Ethan Walker (lacrosse)
Ethan Walker (born September 1, 1997) is a Canadian professional lacrosse player for the Philadelphia Waterdogs of the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) and the Albany FireWolves of the National Lacrosse League (NLL). He played collegiately for the Denver Pioneers, where he holds the all-time points record. Early life Walker was born in Peterborough, Ontario. He began playing lacrosse at age two. He played box lacrosse before moving during his sophomore year to play field lacrosse at Culver Military Academy in Culver, Indiana. He verbally committed to the University of Denver at the age of 15. In his senior season in 2015–16, he tallied 108 goals and 53 assists, helping the team to a 20–3 record, and was named the ''USA Today'' boys' lacrosse player of the year. National Lacrosse League
The National Lacrosse League (NLL) is a professional box lacrosse league in North America. The league comprises 14 teams8 in the United States and 6 in Canada. The NLL is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. ''The Peterborough Examiner'' is a newspaper that services Peterborough, Ontario and area. The paper started circulation in 1847, and is currently owned by Torstar and operated by its Metroland division. 2023 NLL Season
The 2023 National Lacrosse League season, formally known as the 2022–2023 season, was the 36th in the history of the NLL. The season began on December 2, 2022, and ended with the NLL final on June 3, 2023. This was the inaugural season for the expansion team Las Vegas Desert Dogs. The preseason went from November 5 through November 26, 2022. It included games at Aʼnowaraʼko꞉wa Arena and Toronto Rock Athletic Centre. The regular season went from December 2, 2022, through April 20, 2023. This season had the most regular season games in NLL history with 135. The broadcasting partners are The Sports Network, TSN in Canada and ESPN in the United States. The 2022 National Lacrosse League season, formally known as the 2021–2022 season, was the 35th in the history of the NLL. The season began on December 3, 2021, and ended with the NLL final in late spring of 2022. This was the inaugural season for the expansion team Panther City Lacrosse Club, and the Albany FireWolves who relocated from New England. The NLL returned after missing a season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Colorado Mammoth defeated the Buffalo Bandits in a best of three series to win its first championship since 2006. The Peterborough Lakers are Senior "A" box lacrosse team from Peterborough, Ontario. They play in the Major Series Lacrosse league where under the current format, they compete in 16 regular season games from May through July and playoffs beginning in August and ending with the Mann Cup in September. The Lakers play their home games at the 4,329-seat multipurpose Peterborough Memorial Centre. The Mann Cup is the trophy awarded to the senior men's box lacrosse champions of Canada. The championship is a best-of-seven, East vs West series played between the league champions of Major Series Lacrosse, the East, and Western Lacrosse Association, the West. The Tewaaraton Award is an annual award for the most outstanding American college lacrosse men's and women's players, since 2001. It is the lacrosse equivalent of football's Heisman Trophy. The award is presented by The Tewaaraton Foundation and the University Club of Washington, D.C.
