Et Hav Av Avstand
''Et Hav av Avstand'' is the eight full-length album by Norwegian black metal band Taake. It was released on 1 September 2023 and is the band's first studio album in six years. Recording and release In 2022, Hoest entered Conclave Studio along with long-time producer Bjørnar Erevik Nilsen and recorded nearly 20 tracks for future Taake releases. In spring 2023, the album ''Et hav av Avstand'' was announced for a release in autumn of that year. Coinciding with the Beyond the Gates festival in Bergen, a listening party for the album with Hoest was held for fans at the Hellion bar on 3 August 2023. ''Et hav av Avstand'' was released on 1 September 2023 to good reviews from Norwegian and international critics. Taake
Taake () is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen, formed in 1993 and originally named Thule. The band's one continuous member is Hoest, who writes all and records most of the music. He has released seven full-length albums and several EPs. The band describes itself as "True Norwegian black metal", and Hoest said that he wants to "awaken national pride and cultural nostalgia in my Norwegian listeners" as well as to remind people "that Hell is right here on Earth and that humans can be demons".Taake interview, March 2009

Black Metal
Black metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music. Ørjan Stedjeberg (born 24 September 1977 in Bergen), better known by his stage name Hoest, is a Norwegian musician. He is best known as the founder and songwriter of the black metal band Taake. Hoest is the band's sole member and records most instruments for studio releases. He has released eight studio albums and several EPs with the band. As a frontman, Hoest is known for his energetic live performances. He is also a member of the band Deathcult, the current live vocalist for Gorgoroth, and has previously been a member of Ragnarok and Ravengod. Beyond The Gates (music Festival)
Beyond the Gates is an annual extreme metal festival that takes place every year in August in Bergen, Norway. The main stage is at USF Verftet, a refurbished sardine factory transformed into a venue. The festival took place after Hole in the Sky, a predecessor extreme metal festival which took place also in Bergen in August, ended. Herbrand Larsen
Herbrand Larsen (born February 3, 1973) is a Norwegian musician, record producer, mixer and engineer. He is best known for being a member of extreme metal band Enslaved from 2004 to 2016, and hard rock band Audrey Horne from 2002 to 2007. Larsen works primarily with acts in the metal and rock genres, including Immortal, Gorgoroth, Taake, Demonaz, Abbath and Gaahl, but has also collaborated with artists in the folk, ambient and pop genres, such as Wardruna, Lindy-Fay Hella, Michelle Ullestad and Hjerteslag. Larsen has won five Norwegian Spellemann Awards: four with Enslaved and one with Audrey Horne. He owns and runs Conclave & Earshot Studio in Bergen together with former-Enslaved bandmate Arve Isdal.
