Estonia competed at the 2023 European Games, in Kraków, Poland from 21 June to 2 July 2023. This was Estonia's third appearance at the Games and with record number of participating athletes. Estonian Olympic Committee
The Estonian Olympic Committee (, EOK) is responsible for Estonia's participation in the Olympic Games. History The Estonian Sports Federation () decided to form the Estonian Olympic Committee in the First Estonian Sport Congress () on 30 November 1919, one and a half years after the proclamation of the independence of Estonia, but it was officially founded on 8 December 1923. The first chairman of the committee dr. Karl Friedrich Akel, was elected on 5 May 1924. An independent Estonian team took part in the Olympic Games over the period of 1920–1936. As Estonia was invaded and occupied in 1940, and reoccupied by the Soviet Union in 1944, the Estonian Olympic athletes competed as part of the USSR delegations at the Olympic Games from 1952 until 1988. The NOC was renewed on 14 January 1989 when the Estonian Olympic Sports Conference passed the following resolution: "to resume the activity of the Estonian Olympic Committee founded in 1923". Badminton at the 2023 European Games was held at Hala Unii, Arena Jaskółka, Tarnów, Poland from 26 June to 2 July. The badminton programme in 2023 included men's and women's singles competitions; men's, women's and mixed doubles competitions. The event was functioned as the European Badminton Championships, 2023 European Badminton Championships. Qualification Qualification was decided entirely by European rankings, using the BWF World Ranking, BWF World Ranking system with non-European players removed. NOCs could enter up to two entries per event, provided that both entrants were in the top 8 individuals, or top 4 doubles pairs in the relevant European list - Denmark (twice), France and Great Britain were able to avail of this rule. Lisell Jäätma
Lisell Jäätma (born 19 July 1999) is an Estonian archer competing in compound events. Jäätma and Robin Jäätma won the gold medal in the mixed team compound event at the 2023 European Games held in Poland. Early life Lisell Jäätma was born in Paide. Her mother is archer and trainer Maarika Jäätma and her younger brother is archer Robin Jäätma. Career Jäätma, Emily Hoim and Meeri-Marita Paas won the gold medal in the junior women's team compound event at the 2017 European Indoor Archery Championships held in Vittel, France. In 2019, Jäätma and her brother Robin Jäätma won the gold medal in the mixed team compound event at the Summer Universiade held in Naples, Italy. They won the silver medal in the mixed team compound event at the 2021 European Archery Championships held in Antalya, Turkey. Reena Pärnat
Reena Pärnat (born 1 December 1993 in Pärnu, Estonia) is an Estonian archer who competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Pärnat scored 621 points from 720 in the preliminary ranking round of the women's individual event, which determined the seedings for the subsequent elimination rounds, placing 52nd of the 64 competitors. She was eliminated in the first round of the competition by Mexico's Alejandra Valencia. Pärnat later contested the 2015 Summer Universiade in Gwangju while enrolled at the University of Tartu. Her eighth-place finish in the women's individual event represented the highest ever position achieved by an Estonian archer at the Games. Five modern pentathlon events at the 2023 European Games were held at the Bronisław Czech Academy of Physical Education in Kraków, Poland, from 25 June to 1 July 2023. Five events were on the program under the new format of modern pentathlon. The seven-day program took place in the following order: Women's Qualification, Men's Qualification, Women's Semi-finals, Men's Semi-finals, Mixed Relay, Women's Final and Men's Final.
