Esteban Alvarado
Esteban Alvarado Brown (born 28 April 1989) is a Costa Rican professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Liga FPD club Saprissa and the Costa Rica national team. Club career Saprissa Born in Siquirres, Costa Rica, Alvarado started his academy career at Santos de Guápiles before moving to Saprissa. Alvarado made his Saprissa debut, in a 3–1 win over Municipal Liberia on 29 November 2009. With his move to AZ Alkmaar finalised and expected to move in the summer, Alvarado made four appearances for the club and helped the club win the league. AZ Alkmaar In December 2009, AZ Alkmaar signed the Costa Rican goalkeeper from Deportivo Saprissa, the youngster moved to the Netherlands in July 2010. The term "behind closed doors" is used in several sports to describe matches played where spectators are not allowed in the stadium or venue to watch. A match played in this manner is also referred to as a crowdless game. Because ticket sales generally constitute a substantial proportion of total revenues in most professional sports as well as in certain elite competitions of many amateur sports, it is rare for such games to be off limits to paying members of the general public. When such instances do occur, it is usually for reasons outside the participating teams' control. Gertjan Verbeek
Gertjan Verbeek (; born 1 August 1962) is a Dutch former professional footballer who last managed Eerste Divisie side Almere City. Coaching career Netherlands After retiring from his playing career in 1994, Verbeek stayed with SC Heerenveen as an assistant-coach. He left for Heracles Almelo in 2001, and after a successful stint there was hired as the successor to Foppe de Haan with SC Heerenveen. In 2008, he was hired by Feyenoord, but was fired after clashing with players a few months into his tenure. He moved to Heracles Almelo for the 2009–2010 season, and after guiding them to a 6th-place finish in the Eredivisie, AZ hired him for the 2010–2011 season. Hendrikus Sebastian "Bas" Nijhuis (born 12 January 1977) is a Dutch football referee. Since 2007 he has officiated for FIFA international matches. Nijhuis comes from Enschede. Career Inspired by his father, who had also served as a referee, Nijhuis began refereeing at the age of 15 years. In March 2005 he made his debut in a SC Heerenveen match against RKC Waalwijk in the highest Dutch league, the Eredivisie.
