Estadio Corregidora
Estadio Corregidora is a stadium in Querétaro City, Mexico. Named for Mexican War of Independence heroine Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez ("La Corregidora"), it has a capacity of 33,162 and is located on the outskirts of the city of Querétaro, north of Mexico City. The venue is used mostly for football games as the home of Querétaro FC. It is also used for concerts, hosting internationally known pop stars like Rod Stewart, Miguel Bosé, and Shakira, among others. The stadium's design allows for the safe exit of all spectators, even if full, in less than seven minutes. It is one of the largest football venues in Mexico, after Estadio Azteca, Estadio Olímpico Universitario, Estadio Azul (all in Mexico City), Estadio Cuauhtémoc in Puebla, Estadio BBVA Bancomer in greater Monterrey, and Estadio Jalisco in Guadalajara. Estadio Azul
Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes (English: Sports City Stadium) is a 34,253-seat multi-purpose stadium located in Ciudad de los Deportes, Mexico City. The facility is used for association football matches and for American football as well. The Tazón México has been played at the stadium. It is the current home stadium of football club Club América. In summer 2016, Mexico City authorities announced plans to demolish the stadium would begin at the end of the 2017-2018 Liga MX season. However, in July 2018, the demolition project was put on hold. In the 2023–24 Liga MX season, Cruz Azul returned to the stadium. Both times Mexico hosted the World Cup, Estadio Azul did not host matches mainly due to the age of the structure, bad parking facilities, and complex traffic patterns. Liga MX, also known as Liga BBVA MX for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Mexico and the highest level of the Mexican football league system. The 1986 FIFA World Cup knockout stage was the second and final stage of the 1986 FIFA World Cup finals in Mexico. The stage began on 15 June 1986, and ended with the 1986 FIFA World Cup Final, final at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on 29 June 1986. Sixteen teams advanced to the knockout stage to compete in a Single-elimination tournament, single-elimination style tournament: The top two teams from each of the six groups, as well as the 1986 FIFA World Cup#Ranking of third-placed teams, best four third-placed teams. The group's first round of matches began on 4 June and its last matches were played on 13 June. The 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup was the 14th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, the biennial international men's youth association football, football championship contested by the under-17 national teams of the member associations of FIFA. The 1986 FIFA World Cup was the 13th FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial Association football, football tournament for men's senior national teams. It was played in Mexico from 31 May to 29 June 1986. The tournament was the second to feature a 24-team format. Colombia had been originally chosen to host the competition by FIFA but, largely due to economic reasons, was not able to do so, and resigned in November 1982.
