Estación Talca
Estación Talca is a railway station of the Empresa de los Ferrocarriles del Estado, located in Talca, Chile. It is the main railway station in the Maule Region. It is located on 11 Oriente avenue. Estación Talca is part of the Red Sur EFE, the TerraSur and the ''Expreso Maule'' inter-city services have a stop here. The nearby Talca Bus Terminal is within walking distance from the Station. The first section was constructed and opened in 1982. The most recent section was constructed on 1915, leading into stations in Manquehua and Constitución. Talca, Chile
Talca () is a city and commune in Chile located about south of Santiago, and is the capital of both Talca Province and Maule Region (7th Region of Chile). As of the 2012 census, the city had a population of 201,142. The city is an important economic center, with agricultural (wheat) and manufacturing activities, as well as wine production. It is also the location of the Universidad de Talca and the Catholic University of Maule, among others. The Catholic Church of Talca has held a prominent role in the history of Chile. Demographics According to the 2002 census of the National Statistics Institute, Talca spans an area of and had, in that year, 201,797 inhabitants. Of these, in 2002, 193,755 (96%) lived in urban areas and 8,042 (4%) in rural areas. The city had about 233,339 inhabitants (111,796 men and 121,543 women), according to the 2015 census. Empresa de los Ferrocarriles del Estado (abbreviated EFE, lit. ''State Railway Company'') is the national railway and the oldest state-run enterprise in Chile. Ramal Talca-Constitución
The Ramal Talca-Constitución, also known as the Ramal de Maule is the last remaining Narrow-gauge railway, narrow-gauge ''ramal'' (branch line) in Chile. Its route follows the north bank of the Maule River and crosses the Communes of Chile, communes of Talca, Maule, Chile, Maule, Pencahue and Constitución, Chile, Constitución, with Constitución, Chile, Constitución the last station on the line.
