Clube da Esquina (, in English "Corner Club") was a Brazilian music artists collective, originating in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. It is also the name of a double album from 1972. Clube da Esquina mixes rock and roll, progressive rock, bossa nova and jazz styles, with Brazilian folk music and classical music influences. The Beatles and the Platters were also an important influence on Clube da Esquina. Esquina, Corrientes
Esquina is a city in Corrientes Province, Argentina. It is the capital of the Esquina Department. History The city of Esquina was found by Benito Lamela in 1806, who gave the name to the city. In April 2016, a major flood caused a large portion of the city to be underwater. Over 300 people were evacuated, and the height of floodwaters reached at least in some neighborhoods. The first version is in two movements with a duration of about 11 minutes in performance; the second is variously described as being in one or in three (continuous) movements with a total duration of about seven minutes. The scores of both versions are dedicated to Ángela Acevedo. History ''Esquinas'' was originally composed in 1931, in two movements and scored for chamber orchestra with a soprano voice in the first movement. According to one source, a version of ''Esquinas'' for orchestra alone was premiered on 20 November 1931 by the Orquesta Sinfónica de México under the composer's baton.
