''Esplendor'' is a Brazilian telenovela produced and broadcast by Rede Globo. It premiered on 31 January 2000, replacing ''Força de um Desejo'', and ended on 24 June 2000, replaced by ''O Cravo e a Rosa''. Early life Christine was born in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Maria Helena and Antônio, Brazilian parents. ''O Cravo e a Rosa'' ( en, The Thorn and the Rose) is a Brazilian telenovela produced and broadcast by TV Globo. It premiered on 26 June 2000 and ran until 10 March 2001. It is based on the Shakespearean comedy ''The Taming of the Shrew''. Plot The plot involves a single farmer who needs money to save his land, and a wealthy politician who is willing to get his oldest daughter married at any cost. The plan is complicated by the politician's daughter, who is a feminist who rejects the role of a housewife. Henri Lincoln Fernandes Nascimento (born February 10, 1978), known as Henri Castelli, is a Brazilian actor. Career Castelli was hired by Rede Globo in 1998 to make a small participation in the miniseries Hilda Furacão and in the telenovela Pecado Capital as Lobato, a supporting actor. In the following years he acted as Dino, Pércio, Breno and José de Castro in the telenovelas Esplendor, As Filhas da Mãe, Um Anjo Caiu do Céu and O Quinto dos Infernos, respectively. Marcelo Magalhães Serrado (born 10 February 1967 in Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian actor. Biography Marcelo began his career at CAL (Casa de Arte das Laranjeiras) in 1985.
