The first decision was two create two new football clubs. Gibson Football Club was created by excess players from the Esperance club and ''Salmon Gums'' was from surplus players from ''Grass Patch''. The first season was dominated by the Southern teams, Gibson won eleven out of twelve games followed by Esperance win nine wins. Grass Patch won 4 while Salmon Gums went winless. Condingup, Western Australia
Condingup is a town in the Goldfields–Esperance region of Western Australia, in the Shire of Esperance local government area, southeast of the state capital, Perth. Munglinup, Western Australia
Munglinup is a small town located in the Shire of Ravensthorpe in the Goldfields–Esperance region of Western Australia. The town lies on the South Coast Highway between Ravensthorpe and Esperance and close to the Munglinup River. The river for most of its course defines the boundary of the Esperance and Ravensthorpe shires. At the Oldfield Estuary, the boundary goes to the eastern shore. The word Munglinup is Noongar in origin and means ''where young people met their in-laws.'' The name first appears on maps made by the Dempster brothers, early settlers of the area in 1868. Goldfields Football League
The Goldfields Football League is an Australian rules football league based in the Goldfields region of Western Australia. Founded in 1896 as Hannans District Football Association, the league enjoyed a seat and full voting rights on the Australian National Football Council until 1919. The first clubs to play Australian football were formed within the region, and the league helped popularise the sport in the region, helping to establish the sport and supplant Rugby in popularity. The GFL was known as the Goldfields Football Association (GFA) from 1901–07 and 1920–25, and as the Goldfields National Football League (GNFL) from 1926–87. Norseman is a town located in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia along the Coolgardie-Esperance Highway, east of Perth and above sea level. It is also the starting point of the Eyre Highway, and the last major town in Western Australia before the South Australian border to the east. Grass Patch, Western Australia
Grass Patch is a small town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, located 79 km north of Esperance on the Coolgardie-Esperance Highway. The town was named after a nearby farm of the same name that had been settled around 1896 and was renowned for bountiful crops and good grass. The town is part of the Shire of Esperance, and services the local farming community. History The townsite was proposed in 1910 when land in the area was being opened up, and as a watering spot for the planned Esperance to Norseman Railway, which was completed 15 years later. Gibson is a small town in southeastern Western Australia, about north of Esperance. At the 2016 census, Gibson had a population of 449. History The population of the area was 16 (7 males and 9 females) in 1898.
