Espen Berg (musician)
Espen Berg (born 30 June 1983) is a Norwegian jazz musician, arranger and composer from Trondheim, known for his collaborations with musicians such as trumpeter Per Jørgensen, saxophonist Marius Neset and the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra. Career Berg was born in Hamar, and began playing the piano at a very early age; at only 7 years old he was featured on national TV, performing his own compositions. He began studying the jazz tradition at the age of 16, and he earned his Master's degree in Performing music from the acknowledged Jazz program at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2008. At the time he started the trio Listen!, together with Bendik Giske (saxophone) and Daniel Herskedal (tuba). Berg started working as a professional musician in 2003, and toured with his own trio Listen in Scandinavia, Spain, Syria, Cuba, Belgium, France and Hungary. The Spellemannprisen (also referred to as the Norwegian Grammy Awards) is a Norwegian music award ceremony presented by International Federation of the Phonographic Industry#Local associations, IFPI Norge and :no:FONO, FONO. Jesper Bodilsen
Jesper Bodilsen (born 5 January 1970) is a Danish jazz double bassist. Biography Bodilsen was born in Haslev, Denmark. He was a student of Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen. Since the end of the 1990s he worked regularly with Ed Thigpen, with whom he recorded various albums. Furthermore, he worked with, among others, Joe Lovano, Brad Mehldau, Bill Frisell, Gregory Porter, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Lee Konitz, Marc Turner, Stefano Bollani, Lionel Loueke, Gino Vanelli, Phil Woods, Tom Harrell, Joey Calderazzo, Dino Saluzzi, Jimmy Heath, Benny Golson, James Moody, Horace Parlan, Duke Jordan, John Abercrombie, Enrico Rava, Paul Vertigo, Seamus Blake, David Sanchez, Fabrizio Bosso, Paulo Fresu, Stefano Bollani and Katrine Madsen. Hayden Powell
Hayden James Richard Powell (born 25 September 1983 in England) is a jazz trumpeter and composer based in Oslo, Norway. Powell is English, but moved to Norway as a child and grew up in Molde. He has collaborated with numerous musicians including Terje Rypdal, Kenny Wheeler, Eirik Hegdal, Vigleik Storaas, Nils-Olav Johansen, Ole Morten Vågan, Eyolf Dale, and Ståle Storløkken, and released his debut solo album ''The Attic'' in 2011. Seamus Blake
Seamus Blake (born December 8, 1970) is a British-born Canadian tenor saxophonist. Early life and education Blake was born in London, England and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. His mother introduced him to jazz when he was a child and he later attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Career Upon graduation, he moved to New York City. In February 2002, he won the Thelonious Monk International Saxophone Competition. He currently plays with his own quintet (featuring David Kikoski, Lage Lund, Bill Stewart, and Matt Clohesy) and has been a regular with the Mingus Big Band as well as many other New York musicians. In 2022 Seamus became a member of Roger Waters touring band for the This Is Not a Drill tour. Seamus is playing sax on Pink Floyd classic songs as well as Waters solo material.
