Espantito
Martín Rodríguez (April 24, 1968 – October 12, 2020), better known by the ring name Espantito (Spanish for "Little Terror" or "Little Scare"), was a Mexican '' luchador enmascarado'' (or masked professional wrestler) working in the ''Mini-Estrella'' ("Mini-Star") division. Working in the ''Mini-Estrella'' division does not automatically mean that Espantito had dwarfism as several wrestlers who are just shorter in stature work in the "Mini" division. As a ''luchador enmascarado'', Espantito's real name was not a matter of public record, but it was revealed upon his death in 2020. Espantito made his professional wrestling debut in 1993 and was allowed to use a version of the '' Espanto'' mask and name with permission of the only surviving Espanto, Espanto III. Los Espantos
''Los Espantos'' (Spanish for "The Terrors"), sometimes referred to as ''Los Hermanos Espanto'' ("The Terror Brothers"), was a Mexican professional wrestling group, called a stable. The original ''Espantos'' team consisted of Espanto I (José Eusebio Vázquez Bernal) and Espanto II (Fernando Cisneros Carrillo), but later expanded to a trio when Espanto III (Miguel Vázquez Bernal), the younger brother of Espanto I, joined the group. They primarily worked as a ''rudo'' (a term used for wrestlers who portray the "Bad guys") faction for Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre (EMLL) and on the Mexican independent circuit. José Eusebio Vázquez Bernal (1930 – May 30, 1968), was a Mexican ''luchador'', or professional wrestler from the mid-1950s until his death in 1968, best known under the ring name Espanto I (Spanish for "Terror I"), part of '' Los Espantos'' alongside his lifelong friend Fernando Cisneros Carrillo (Espanto II) and his younger brother Miguel Vázquez Bernal ( Espanto III). As ''Los Espantos'' the three became one of the first "Identical teams" in Mexico. During his professional wrestling career Vázquez held the Mexican National Tag Team Championship once and the Mexican National Light Heavyweight Championship on three occasions. Fernando Cisneros Carrillo (August 25, 1932 – August 27, 2010), was a Mexican '' luchador'' or professional wrestler known under the ring name Espanto II ("Terror 2"). For most of his career he was closely associated with his tag team partner and close friend José Vázquez, better known as Espanto I as well as Miguel Vázquez known as Espanto III, with the three collectively known as '' Los Espantos'' During his professional wrestling career Carillo held the Mexican National Tag Team Championship with Espanto I and the Northern Tag Team Championship with Espanto III. Miguel "Miguelito" Vázquez Bernal (February 11, 1940 – December 8, 1996), was a Mexican ''luchador'' or professional wrestler known under the ring name Espanto III ("Terror 3"). During his career in ''lucha libre'' he formed a long running, successful trio known as ''Los Espantos'' ("The Terrors") with his brother José Eusebio Vázquez Bernal (known as Espanto I) and Fernando Cisneros Carrillo (Espanto II). Raymundo Rodríguez (15 March 1969 – 8 July 2018) was a Mexican '' luchador'' or professional wrestler best known under the ring name Piratita Morgan. He also worked as an ''enmascarado'', or masked wrestler, under the names Battalion, Payasito Rojo and Coquito Rojo. Rodríguez was one of the first wrestlers to compete in the '' Mini-Estrella'' ("Mini Star) division in Mexico, a division for both dwarf wrestlers and wrestlers of short stature, often portraying a smaller version of a regular-sized wrestler. Dwarfism
Dwarfism is a condition wherein an organism is exceptionally small, and mostly occurs in the animal kingdom. Midget Wrestling
Midget wrestling is professional wrestling involving people of exceptionally short stature. Its heyday was in the 1950s and 1960s, when wrestlers such as Little Beaver, Lord Littlebrook, toured North America, and Sky Low Low was the first holder of the National Wrestling Alliance's World Midget Championship. In the following couple of decades, more wrestlers became prominent in North America, including foreign wrestlers like Japan's Little Tokyo. Octagoncito (born April 24, 1974) is a Mexican '' Luchador'' '' enmascarado'', or masked professional wrestler, who works in the '' Mini-Estrellas'' ("Mini-Stars") division on the Mexican Independent circuit. He is the first wrestler to work as Octagoncito, with Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) giving the same ring character to a second Octagoncito when the original one left the promotion in 1995. Octagoncito's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. Octagón
Juan Escalera (born March 27, 1961) is a Mexican luchador enmascarado (masked professional wrestler) better known as Octagón. He is best known for working for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA), having worked for the company since it was founded in 1992. In 2011 he was inducted into the promotion's Hall of Fame. Octagón formed a tag team with El Hijo Del Santo to take on Los Gringos Locos ( Eddie Guerrero and Art Barr) in a double mask versus hair match on the first pay-per-view put on by a Mexican wrestling promotion to air in the United States.
