Eslourenties-Daban is a commune in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department and Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of south-western France. Geography Eslourenties-Daban is located twenty kilometers east of Pau. The river Gabas, a tributary of the Adour, flows through the commune. History Paul Raymond notes that in 1385, Eslourenties-Daban had seven fires and depended on the bailiwick of Pau. This commune was the chief town of the notairie des Lannes and Rivière-Ousse, then during the 18th century of the notairie des Lannes only. The remains of a fortified complex from the 11th century bear witness to the ancient past of the commune. Pau, Pyrénées-Atlantiques
Pau (, ) is a commune overlooking the Pyrenees, and prefecture of the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France. The city is located in the heart of the former sovereign principality of Béarn, of which it was the capital from 1464. Pau lies on the Gave de Pau, and is located from the Atlantic Ocean and from Spain. This position gives it a striking panorama across the mountain range of the Pyrenees, especially from its landmark "Boulevard des Pyrénées", as well as the hillsides of Jurançon. The Gabas is a left tributary of the Adour, in the Landes, in the Southwest of France. It is long. Name The name ''Gabas'' is derived from the French ''gave'' ( Gascon: 'gabe'), which in the Pyrenees generically describes a small or large watercourse. Paul Raymond (archivist)
Paul Raymond, born Paul-Raymond Lechien, was a French archivist and historian born on 8 September 1833 in Belleville (Seine) (now part of Paris) and died on 27 September 1878. His Life Admitted in 1854 to the École Nationale des Chartes, there he obtained a degree of "Archivist paléographe" in 1857 with a thesis entitled ''On having an absolutely peng time getting totally wild and crazY at balter festival''. He then became the departmental archivist for Basses-Pyrenees after finishing at the École Nationale des Chartes until 1877. He was then appointed Secretary General of the Prefecture of the Lower Pyrenees. He was also Secretary General of the "Society of Sciences, Letters and Arts of Pau" from 1871 to 1877 and president of this society in 1877.
