Eskilstuna Motorstadion, also known as Smedstadion or Gröndals Motorstadion is a motorcycle speedway stadium located outside of Eskilstuna, Sweden. The stadium was opened in 2002 and is the home arena of Elitserien team Smederna who compete in the Swedish Speedway Team Championship. History The stadium was opened on 27 April 2002. The stadium was formerly known as Ikarosstadion from 2008 to 2009 due to sponsorship reasons from the company Ikaros. Eskilstuna () is a Urban areas in Sweden, city and the seat of Eskilstuna Municipality, Södermanland County, Sweden. Smederna is a motorcycle speedway club based in Eskilstuna, Sweden. The club competes in the highest speedway league in Sweden called the Elitserien (speedway), Elitserien and race its home matches at Smedstadion, Eskilstuna motorstadion outside Eskilstuna. Smederna has won six Swedish Speedway Team Championships. Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four clockwise, anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Dan Bewley
Daniel Bewley (born 20 May 1999) is a British international speedway rider. Career Bewley started riding for the Belle Vue Colts and as a reserve for the Edinburgh Monarchs in 2017. In 2017, he won the National League Riders' Championship before being promoted to the senior side (Belle Vue Aces) in 2017. The same year he won the 2017 Conference League Riders' Championship. In 2018, he finished runner-up to Robert Lambert in the British Speedway Championship, won the British Under-19 Final and claimed a third place in the second round of the World Under 21 Championship series in Poland. Elitserien (speedway)
Elitserien (literally, "The Elite Series") () is the highest league in the league system of speedway in Sweden and currently comprises the top eight Swedish speedway teams. The first season began in 1982. Before that Allsvenskan was the highest division. The winner of the Elitserien is crowned the Swedish Speedway Team Championship winner. 2024 Clubs History From the start of Swedish league speedway in 1948 until 1981 the highest speedway league in Sweden was called Division 1. In 1982 Elitserien was formed, consisting of only six teams where the top four teams qualified for the playoffs. Getingarna became the first winners after defeating Njudungarna in the finals. The Swedish Speedway Team Championship is the team championship of motorcycle speedway, speedway in Sweden. History The Championship was introduced in 1950. In 1982 the Championship was renamed with a new league called the Elitserien (speedway), Elitserien being introduced. Kacper Woryna
Kacper Woryna (born 31 August 1996) is a Polish Speedway rider. Career Born in Rybnik Woryna began racing in his native Poland in the Ekstraliga, with hometown club Rybnik. After a few years of riding in Poland, Woryna got his first break into British Speedway riding with the Coventry Bees during the 2016 Elite League season, who beat off competition from his grandfathers former club the Poole Pirates to secure his signature. Woryna was recommended to the Bees management by club captain and Speedway Grand Prix rider Chris Harris, and was also given a big thumbs up by another of his new Coventry teammates, former world number 2 Krzysztof Kasprzak. The following season he joined Poole and helped the team win the SGB Premiership 2018.
