Escolca, Iscroca in sardinian language, is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of South Sardinia in the Italian region Sardinia, located about north of Cagliari. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 652 and an area of .Italian statistical institute Istat Geographically it is located in the Sarcidano sub-region which extends between the territories of Campidano, that of Marmilla and that of Barbagia. Inside there are three artificial lakes of Mulargia, Flumendosa and San Sebastiano. The Sarcidano territory is dotted with numerous archaeological remains, not only Nuragic. The province of South Sardinia (; ) is a Provinces of Italy, province in the autonomous island region of Sardinia, Italy, instituted on 4 February 2016.
