''Escape from Alcatraz'' is a 1979 American biographical prison film, prison drama film directed and produced by Don Siegel. The screenplay, written by Richard Tuggle, is based on the 1963 non-fiction Escape from Alcatraz (book), book of the same name by J. Campbell Bruce, which recounts the June 1962 Alcatraz escape attempt, 1962 prisoner escape from the Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary, maximum security prison on Alcatraz Island. The film stars Clint Eastwood as escape ringleader Frank Morris, alongside Patrick McGoohan, Fred Ward, Jack Thibeau, and Larry Hankin with Danny Glover appearing in his film debut. Bill Gold
William Gold (January 3, 1921 – May 20, 2018) was an American graphic designer best known for thousands of film poster designs. During his 70-year career, Gold worked with some of Hollywood's greatest filmmakers, including Laurence Olivier, Clint Eastwood, Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, Elia Kazan, and Ridley Scott. His first poster was for ''Yankee Doodle Dandy'' (1942), and his final work was for ''J. Edgar'' (2011). ''Two Mules for Sister Sara'' is a 1970 American-Mexican Western film in Panavision directed by Don Siegel and starring Shirley MacLaine and Clint Eastwood set during the French intervention in Mexico (1861–1867). ''Variety Film Reviews'' is the 24-volume hardcover reprint of feature film reviews by the weekly entertainment tabloid-size magazine '' Variety'' from 1907 to 1996.
