Ernest Ashley Dingo Member of the Order of Australia, AM (born 31 July 1956) is an Indigenous Australians, Indigenous Australian actor, television presenter and comedian, originating from the Yamatji people of the Murchison (Western Australia), Murchison region of Western Australia. He is a designated Australian National Living Treasure. Ernie DiGregorio
Ernest DiGregorio (born January 15, 1951), also known as "Ernie D.", is an American former professional basketball player. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Buffalo Braves, Los Angeles Lakers, and Boston Celtics from 1973 to 1978. DiGregorio was named NBA Rookie of the Year in the 1973–74 season and shares the NBA rookie record for assists in a single game with 25. Due to a severe knee injury suffered early in DiGregorio's professional career, he played only five NBA seasons. A 1973 NCAA All-American at Providence, DiGregorio was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019. Ernie Davis
Ernest R. Davis (December 14, 1939 – May 18, 1963) was an American college football player who was a halfback for the Syracuse Orangemen who won the Heisman Trophy in 1961. He was the award's first black recipient. Davis was selected first overall by the Washington Redskins in the 1962 NFL draft but was almost immediately traded to the Cleveland Browns. He was diagnosed with leukemia that same year, and died shortly after at age 23 without ever playing in a professional game. Ernie Danjean (March 5, 1934 – June 19, 1995) was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) and all-star in the Canadian Football League (CFL). After playing college football Auburn University, Danjean was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the nineteenth round of the 1957 NFL draft and played that season with the team. Ernest Arthur Coombs, CM (November 26, 1927 – September 18, 2001) was an American-Canadian children's entertainer who starred in the Canadian television series '' Mr. Dressup'' (1967–1996). His career began as an assistant puppeteer to Fred Rogers, joining him in Canada when his employer was invited to produce a variant of his local Pittsburgh show for CBC Television, '' The Children's Corner'' on a national series, '' Mister Rogers''. When Rogers decided to return to the United States, Coombs chose to stay in Canada on his employer's recommendation, developing the children's show '' Butternut Square'', which later evolved into ''Mr. Dressup'', which went on to become a long-running and iconic presence in Canadian media.
