Ernie Kell
Ernest Eugene Kell, Jr. (July 5, 1928 – April 29, 2017) served as mayor of Long Beach, California from 1984 to 1994, and as a city councilor for 13 years. Life and career Kell was born into modest circumstances on a farm in Washburn, North Dakota. His family moved to Wilmington during the Great Depression, where he would graduate from Phineas Banning High School. He received an associate degree from Long Beach City College, and attended California State University, Long Beach. Thomas Clark (Long Beach)
Thomas Joseph Clark, Jr. (July 13, 1926 – May 6, 2020) was an American politician. He served as mayor of Long Beach, California from 1975 to 1980 and from 1982 to 1984, as elected by the Long Beach City Council. Life and career Clark was born in San Diego and moved to Long Beach in 1933. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson Classical High School and an alumnus of Long Beach City College and the University of California at Berkeley. He was an optometrist. The El Dorado Park neighborhood of Long Beach, California, is on the east side of the city adjacent to the large El Dorado Regional Park. Lakewood is north of El Dorado Park, while Hawaiian Gardens is northeast, and Los Alamitos is east of El Dorado Park. The park is bounded on the east by the 605 Freeway, on the north by the Long Beach Towne Center shopping mall, and on the south by Stearns Street. Because of the barrier of the freeway and park between the neighborhood and the rest of Long Beach, as well as the barrier created by near Norwalk Blvd and the Coyote Creek and the neighboring cities, the El Dorado Park neighborhood feels quite separate.
