Ernesto Ruffo Appel (born 25 June 1952) is a Mexican politics, politician, who served as the 10th governor of Baja California from 1989 to 1995. A member of the National Action Party (Mexico), National Action Party (PAN), Ruffo was the first List of Mexican state governors, state governor not affiliated with the ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) since 1929. Ernesto Samper Pizano (born 3 August 1950) served as the President of Colombia from 1994 to 1998. From 2014 to 2017 he served as the Secretary General of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR). He is a lawyer, economist, academic and politician. He was involved in the 8000 process scandal, which takes its name from the folio number assigned to it by the chief prosecutor's office. The prosecutor charged that money from the Cali Cartel was funneled into Samper's presidential campaign to gain his success in what would have been a very close race after he failed to win by a majority during the first round (Colombia has 2 rounds of elections, unless the first round yields a majority winner). Ernesto Purnsley is an American football coach who is the running backs coach for the Sacred Heart Pioneers. He has served as the head coach of the Utah Blaze of the Arena Football League (AFL) and the Guangzhou Power of the China Arena Football League (CAFL). He has also been a defensive coordinator for five different AFL teams. Playing career Purnsley played college football at Catawba as a wide receiver and quarterback. Ernesto Nathan (5 October 1848 – 9 April 1921) was an English-Italian politician who was the mayor of Rome from November 1907 to December 1913. Biography Nathan was born in London in 1845 to Sara Levi, an Italian from Pesaro, and Mayer Moses Nathan, a naturalised Briton of German origin, both of Jewish heritage. His father died when Ernesto was a teenager. He spent his youth in Florence, Lugano, Milan and Sardinia, where he administered a cotton mill. He was attracted by the revolutionary ideas of Giuseppe Mazzini, and in 1870, at 25, he moved to Rome as administrator of ''La Roma del Popolo''. Ernesto Arturo Miranda (March 9, 1941 – January 31, 1976) was an American laborer whose criminal conviction was set aside in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case '' Miranda v. Arizona'', which ruled that criminal suspects must be informed of their right against self-incrimination and their right to consult with an attorney before being questioned by police. This warning is known as a ''Miranda'' warning. Miranda had been convicted of kidnapping, rape, and armed robbery charges based on his confession under police interrogation. After the Supreme Court decision invalidated Miranda's initial conviction, the state of Arizona tried him again. At the second trial, with his confession excluded from evidence, he was convicted. He was sentenced to 20–30 years in prison, but was paroled in 1972. Ernesto Maserati
Ernesto Maserati (4 August 1898 – 1 December 1975) was an Italian automotive engineer and racer, with Maserati of Modena since its inception in Bologna on 14 December 1914, together with his brothers Alfieri Maserati (leader), Ettore Maserati, Bindo Maserati and others. Ernesto led the workshop during World War I, as his brothers joined the military. His racing career started in 1924, when he won the Italian drivers championship in 1927 in the Maserati Tipo 26, in 1930 using the Maserati 8C, Tipo 8C-2500. After his brother Alfieri Maserati died in 1932, Ernesto became the director, chief engineer as well as sole racing car driver of the company. The company was sold to Adolfo Orsi in 1937, but the brothers remained on a ten-year contract, Ernesto participating in the design of the Maserati A6 after World War II.
