Ernesto Bonino
Ernesto Pietro Bonino (16 January 1922 – 29 April 2008) was an Italian singer of pop and jazz standards whose peak of popularity was during the 1940s and 50s. A native of Turin, Ernesto Bonino began his career in the late 1930s as a teenage singer in the lively club scene of his hometown. Another contemporary Turin performer, Fred Buscaglione, was also starting his singing occupation in the same fashion. Music impresario/conductor Carlo Prato, who had earlier promoted a Netherlands, Dutch sister act into the very popular Trio Lescano, heard Bonino and arranged an audition for him at the Italian state radio company Ente Italiano per le Audizioni Radiofoniche, EIAR. His broadcast debut came on 5 January 1941 with the song ''Tango Argentino''. Nicola Salerno
Nicola Salerno (11 March 1910 – 22 May 1969), often known as Nisa, was an Italian lyricist. He formed a famous songwriting duo with Renato Carosone. Life and career Nicola Salerno was born in Naples in 1910. His first hit was "Eulalia Torricelli" of 1947, about the unhappy love story between a wealthy girl from Forlì and a guy named Giosuè. Salerno put the whole team of songwriters (including himself, Gino Redi and Dino Olivieri) in the lyrics as heirs to each of Eulalia's three castles. Salerno met Renato Carosone in 1955. It was Mariano Rapetti, Ricordi record company's director – and father of lyricist Mogol – who suggested that they should work together to enter a radio contest. Renato Carosone (; born Renato Carusone; 3 January 1920 – 20 May 2001) was an Italian musician. Carosone was a piano prodigy and prominent figure in the Italian music scene in the second half of the 20th century. He was also a modern performer of the so-called canzone napoletana, a traditional music genre from Naples. His biggest successes were: O sarracino/Caravan petrol", "Tu vuò fà l'americano", "Maruzzella" and "Pigliate 'na pastiglia". Pietro Garinei
Pietro Garinei (1 February 1919 – 9 May 2006) was an Italian playwright, actor, and songwriter. Brother of Enzo Garinei. Biography Garinei was born in Trieste in 1919. He later worked as a sports journalist for the daily newspaper in Milan and Rome, where he met Sandro Giovannini. The two discovered a shared interest in music and entertainment, and left the paper shortly after to found a satiric newspaper. In September 1944 they established a musical theater, Cantachiaro, which was named after a weekly satirical magazine they had contributed to. The first star of their theater was Anna Magnani. Following the end of World War II, Garinei and Giovannini collaborated with the Radio RAI.
