Erik Wayne Rasmussen (born March 28, 1977) is a retired American professional ice hockey player. Early life Rasmussen, originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, gained statewide recognition in 1995 when he was awarded the prestigious Minnesota Mr. Hockey Award, an honor given annually to the most outstanding high school hockey player in the state. His talent and dedication earned him a spot with the University of Minnesota, where he competed in NCAA Division I hockey for two seasons. Career Rasmussen was chosen seventh overall in the first round of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Sabres, marking him as one of the top prospects of his class. Throughout his professional career, Rasmussen suited up for the Sabres, Los Angeles Kings, and New Jersey Devils. Erik Sandvad Rasmussen (born 24 December 1960), nicknamed "''The Wizard''" and "''TryllErik''", is a former Danish football player and manager. He played two games for the Denmark national football team. In March 2014 it was announced that he would be a 2014 inductee into the Indoor Soccer Hall of Fame. Player During his active career, he was a forward for Danish clubs Køge, Herfølge, Frem and Brøndby. In 1984, Rasmussen moved to the United States and signed with the Wichita Wings of the Major Indoor Soccer League. He played five seasons for the Wings. In 1988, he was the league's points leader and was named the MISL MVP. Erik Veje Rasmussen (born 9 April 1959) is a former Danish handball player and handball coach who competed in the 1982 World Men's Handball Championship and 1984 Summer Olympics. In addition to Handball he is also an author and inventor of sports clothing. Playing career Veje Rasmussen started playing handball at Vallekilde-Hørve, his local club. From there he moved to Danish top club Helsingør IF, and was the top goalscorer of the 1983 Danish Handball League season. After 2 seasons he moved abroad playing in both Germany, Switzerland and Spain. At St. Otmar he acted as player-coach in multiple instances. During the 1980s he was one of the central players at the Danish National Team. In 1984 he finished fourth with the Denmark men's national handball team in the Olympic tournament.
