Erik Nord
Erik Gunnar Nord (11 September 1918 – 19 January 2014) was a Norwegian jurist, civil servant, foreign policy researcher and politician for the Socialist Left Party (Norway), Socialist Left Party. He grew up in Kolbotn, and was active in the labour movement from a young age. He took his secondary education at the Oslo Cathedral School. During the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany he was arrested by the Nazi authorities in June 1943. He was briefly imprisoned in Bredtveit concentration camp, then Berg concentration camp. In December 1943 he was transferred to Sennheim concentration camp, Sennheim, then Buchenwald concentration camp where he remained until the camp was liberated. He took the cand.jur. degree in 1945 after the war's end. Socialist Left Party (Norway)
The Socialist Left Party ( no, Sosialistisk Venstreparti, sme, Sosialisttalaš Gurutbellodat, SV) is a democratic socialist political party in Norway. Positioned on the left-wing of the political spectrum, it is opposed to European Union and the European Economic Area membership. SV supports a strong public sector, stronger social welfare programs, environmentalism, and republicanism. As of 2018, the party has 11,385 members; the number has steadily increased since a low point in 2015. The party leader is Audun Lysbakken, who was elected on 11 March 2012. Johan Jørgen Holst
Johan Jørgen Holst (29 November 1937 – 13 January 1994) was a Norwegian politician representing Labour, best known for his involvement with the Oslo Accords. Holst was Minister of Defence from 1987 to 1989 and from 1990 to April 1993. He then became Minister of Foreign Affairs, a position he held to his death. During his time in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he was heavily involved in the process that led to the Oslo Accords. He suffered a minor stroke in December 1993 and was admitted to a hospital. He never fully recovered and died a month later. His wife Marianne Heiberg later said that he had worked himself to death with the peace process. In his memory, the city of Gaza created the Holst Park, an activity center for children of Gaza from 6 to 16. Holst was educated at Oslo Cathedral School, where he completed his examen artium in 1956. Bredtvet is a neighborhood in the borough of Bjerke in Oslo, Norway. The area is located on a ridge between the neighborhoods of Veitvet to the west and Kalbakken to the east.
