Erik Nelson (songwriter)
Erik Nelson is an American Grammy-nominated songwriter, music producer and recording engineer. His first commercial studio, Sinewave Studios, opened in 1994 in Bloomington, IL. It was at Sinewave that Nelson recorded, mixed and mastered the EP "Kill, I Oughtta" for Mudvayne. After Mudvayne's major label debut "L.D. 50", their label, Epic, re-released "Kill, I Oughtta" under the title "The Beginning of All Things to End" with some additional remixes from "L.D. 50". Sinewave Studios closed in 1999, and Nelson opened Eclipse Studios in Normal, IL in June 2000. In 2005, Nelson created the songwriting/production duo The Insomniax along with partner Emile Ghantous. Erik Nelson is an American documentary film director and television producer. Nelson has produced and directed several films, television specials and television programs such as ''Ripley's Believe It or Not!'', ''Mega Disasters'', ''When Good Times Go Bad'', ''What Were You Thinking?'', ''Unsolved History'', ''Prehistoric Predators'' and '' More than Human''. He has a production company called Creative Differences Productions (formerly known as Termite Art Productions), owned by Lionsgate from 1998 to 2004. In 2008 he released a documentary he produced and directed, about prolific and controversial author Harlan Ellison, entitled ''Dreams with Sharp Teeth''. Nelson started working on this film in 1981. The film included interviews with many respected collaborators and admirers of Ellison. Nelson collaborated with Werner Herzog on several films. Eric Nelson is an American choral conductor, clinician and composer. Education Nelson received his training in voice and choral conducting at Houghton College, Westminster Choir College and Indiana University. Career Eric Nelson is director of choral studies at Emory University, where he teaches graduate choral conducting and choral literature. He conducts Emory's 40-voice Concert Choir and its 180-voice University Chorus. In 2004, he was the recipient of a "Crystal Apple" award for excellence in teaching at the university. He is also the artistic director of the Atlanta Master Chorale, a 60-voice adult chamber choir specializing in ''a cappella'' repertoire.
