Erik Martin (basketball)
Erik Martin (born May 26, 1971) is an American basketball coach and former professional player, currently serving as head coach for South Carolina State Bulldogs basketball, South Carolina State. A native of California, Martin played one season of college basketball at TCU Horned Frogs men's basketball, TCU before transferring to Santa Ana College, a junior college in California where he was a first-team All-State selection. In 1991 he joined the Cincinnati Bearcats men's basketball, University of Cincinnati, and with the Bearcats he reached the Final Four during the 1992 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, 1992 NCAA tournament. After going undrafted in the 1993 NBA draft he played for various Continental Basketball Association, CBA teams and abroad in South Korea and Taiwan. Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference
The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC ) is a List of NCAA conferences, collegiate athletic conference whose full members are historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the Southeastern United States, Southeastern and the Mid-Atlantic states, Mid-Atlantic United States. The West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball team represents West Virginia University in National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA Division I (NCAA), Division I college basketball competition. They are a member of the Big 12 Conference. WVU has won 13 conference tournament championships, and has 31 appearances in the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, NCAA tournament, including two Final Fours, most recently in 2009–10 West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball team, 2010. The 1993–94 NBA season, 1993 NBA draft took place on June 30, 1993, at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The draft had some talented players at the top, but injuries and personal problems hurt many of them. Chris Webber, Penny Hardaway, Allan Houston, and Jamal Mashburn were All-Stars whose careers were cut short by injuries. 1992 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament
The 1992 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament involved 64 schools playing in single-elimination play to determine the national champion of men's NCAA Division I college basketball. It began on March 19, 1992, and ended with the championship game on April 6 in Minneapolis. A total of 63 games were played. Duke, coached by Mike Krzyzewski, defeated Michigan, coached by Steve Fisher, 71–51 to claim their second consecutive national championship. Bobby Hurley of Duke was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. The Basketball Tournament at the 1995 Pan American Games was held in Mar del Plata, Argentina from March 19 to March 25, 1995. The women's tournament was cancelled because as of March 3, 1995, only four women's teams had signed up to play. All the games were held in Polideportivo Islas Malvinas, which was built for this edition of the Pan American Games. The 1995 Pan American Games, officially known as the XII Pan American Games () and commonly known as Mar del Plata 1995, were held in Mar del Plata, Argentina, from 12 to 26 March 1995. The FIBA AmeriCup (previously known as the FIBA Americas Championship) is the Americas Basketball Championship that takes place every four years between national teams of the Western Hemisphere continents. Since FIBA organized the entire Western Hemisphere west of the Atlantic Ocean under one zone, countries from North America, Central America, the Caribbean and South America compete in this tournament.
