Erik Ainge
Erik Douglas Ainge (born June 12, 1986) is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers. He was selected by the Jets in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL draft. He currently hosts a daily sports talk show in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Sports Radio WNML 990 AM and 99.1 FM from 9a-12n EST. He is the nephew of former NBA and MLB player Danny Ainge, who is currently an executive with the Utah Jazz. Early life Ainge was born in Portland, Oregon. He was raised just outside Portland in Hillsboro, Oregon, where he was a star athlete at Glencoe High School. As a freshman and sophomore, he played baseball and basketball in addition to football. The quarterback (QB) is a position in gridiron football who are members of the offensive side of the ball and mostly line up directly behind the Lineman (football), offensive line. Aloha High School (AHS) is a suburban public high school in Aloha, Oregon, United States. It is part of the Beaverton School District. History In the 1950s, the Beaverton area had separate high school and elementary school districts. The high school district served Beaverton High School and Sunset High School. There were also twelve elementary school districts. In 1960, the thirteen districts were unified after a vote of the people. The Beaverton area was one of the fastest growing in the state, and in 1962, the district determined that a new high school was needed. The All-America designation is an annual honor bestowed on outstanding athletes in the United States who are considered to be among the best athletes in their respective sport. In basketball, a rebound, sometimes colloquially referred to as a board, is a statistic awarded to a player who retrieves the ball after a missed field goal or free throw. Rebounds in basketball are a routine part in the game; if a shot is successfully made possession of the ball will change, otherwise the rebound allows the defensive team to take possession.
