Eric Johnson (golfer)
Eric Johnson (born October 11, 1962) is an American professional golfer. Johnson was born in Seaside, Oregon. He won the 1980 U.S. Junior Amateur. He played college golf at the University of Oregon. Johnson turned professional in 1983. He played on the Nationwide Tour in 1993, 1995–96, and 1998–2003. He won twice on tour: the 1996 Nike Knoxville Open and the 1998 Nike South Florida Open. He played one full season on the PGA Tour in 1997 where his best finish was T-12 at the GTE Byron Nelson Golf Classic. Johnson is a golf instructor at the RiverRidge Golf Complex in Eugene, Oregon. Seaside, Oregon
Seaside is a city in Clatsop County, Oregon, United States, on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. The name Seaside is derived from ''Seaside House'', a historic summer resort built in the 1870s by railroad magnate Ben Holladay. The city's population was 7,115 at the 2020 United States Census, 2020 census. History The Clatsop were a historic Native American tribe that had a village named ''Ne-co-tat'' (in their Chinook language) in this area. Indigenous peoples had long inhabited the coastal area. About January 1, 1806, a group of men from the Lewis and Clark Expedition built a salt-making cairn at the site later developed as Seaside. The city was not municipal incorporation, incorporated until February 17, 1899, when coastal resort areas were being settled. Matt Peterson (born April 26, 1967) is an American professional golfer. Peterson was born in Chicago, Illinois. He went to school in Morganton, North Carolina before enrolling at the University of Georgia to study management and information technology. There he was a member of the golf team and became a three-time All-American, winning one tournament during college career. He graduated in 1989 and turned professional the following year. Peterson played on the Nationwide Tour in 1992, 1994–2001, and 2003–04, winning once at the 1995 Nike Central Georgia Open. Paul Claxton (born February 9, 1968) is an American professional golfer. Early life and amateur career Claxton was born and raised in Vidalia, Georgia. He attended the University of Georgia and was a member of the golf team. He majored in Business and graduated in 1992. Professional career In 1993, Claxton turn professional. He was a member of the PGA Tour in 1997, 2002, 2005 and 2008. He was a member of the Nationwide Tour in 1995-96, 1998–2001, 2003–04, 2006–07 and 2009-10. When he won the 2007 Melwood Prince George's County Open, he surpassed $1,000,000 in earnings on the Nationwide Tour becoming the first player to do so. Charlie Rymer (born December 18, 1967) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and the Nike Tour. He is currently an analyst for the Golf Channel. Amateur career Rymer was born in Cleveland, Tennessee and grew up in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Rymer played college golf at Georgia Tech, where he was a third-team All-American in 1988 and an honorable mention All-American in 1989. He won five tournaments during his time at Georgia Tech.
