Eric Christensen (visual Effects Supervisor)
Eric Christensen (born March 12, 1969) is an American Visual Effects Supervisor and Chief Executive Officer of two Visual Effects Companies. Christensen was born in Redding, California. Christensen quit ILM to form his own company, "RotoFactory" in 2006 to offer other visual effects shops in the United States an opportunity to keep their 2D outsourcing domestic. In 2010, Christensen expanded into New Orleans, Louisiana, to offer expanded services to the major motion picture studios as well as a 30% tax incentive allowed by the state. Christensen's Factory VFX also began training programs to assist New Orleans residents in developing a new industry, working with both government programs and local city non-profits, Factory VFX is helping revitalize a city affected by natural and man-made disasters. Visual effects (sometimes abbreviated VFX) is the process by which imagery is created or manipulated outside the context of a live-action shot in filmmaking and video production. The integration of live-action footage and other live-action footage or CGI elements to create realistic imagery is called VFX. VFX involves the integration of live-action footage (which may include in-camera special effects) and generated-imagery (digital or optics, animals or creatures) which look realistic, but would be dangerous, expensive, impractical, time-consuming or impossible to capture on film. Redding, California
Redding is the economic and cultural capital of the Shasta Cascade region of Northern California and the county seat of Shasta County. Redding lies along the Sacramento River, north of Sacramento, and south of California's northern border with Oregon. Its population is 95,542 as of the 2022 census, up from 89,861 from the 2010 census. Etymology During the Gold Rush, the area that now comprises Redding was called Poverty Flats. In 1868 the first land agent for the Central Pacific Railroad, a former Sacramento politician named Benjamin Bernard Redding, bought property in Poverty Flats on behalf of the railroad so that it could build a northern terminus there.
