Eric Brock (safety)
Eric Brock (born April 4, 1985) is a former American football safety who played for two seasons for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). After playing college football for the Auburn Tigers, he was signed by the Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2008. Professional career Brock was promoted to the Atlanta Falcons' active roster on December 22, 2009, after safety Antoine Harris was placed on injured reserve. Brock was waived on February 9, 2010. Brock re-signed with the team on August 17, 2010, but was released prior to the 2010 season on September 4, 2010. Coaching career Brock became an assistant coach for the West Virginia Wesleyan College football team in July 2011. Safety (American Football Position)
Safety is a position in gridiron football on the defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. While American (11-player) formations generally use two safeties, Canadian (12-player) formations generally have one safety and two defensive halfbacks, a position not used in the American game. The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured. Antoine Glenn Harris (born April 8, 1982) is a former American football safety. He was signed by the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2005. He played college football at Louisville. Harris was also a member of the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles.
