Eric Barnes (29 November 1937 – 3 January 2014) was an English professional footballer who played for Crewe Alexandra between 1957 and 1970. Barnes joined Crewe initially as an amateur while doing his National Service in the Royal Air Force. He played mainly as a centre half, but also had a spell at full back after Crewe signed Dave Ewing from Manchester City. He moved into non-league football with Witton Albion in 1970. Eric Barnes is an American head coach and a former soccer player. He holds a NSCAA Premier Diploma and an NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma. Barnes is a grade 6 USSF Referee and a member of the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association. Player A 2004 graduate of South Aiken High School in Aiken, S.C., Barnes earned a Bachelor's degree in health, fitness and recreation resources with a concentration in sport management in 2007 from George Mason University, where he played collegiately for two years. He then played two years at the University of Pittsburgh while earning his Juris Doctor. Barnes also played professionally for the Carolina Dynamo (USL Premier Development League) in 2007 and for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds (USL-2) during the 2009 season. Eric Barnes (rugby League)
Eric Barnes (17 October 1940 − 27 June 2019) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1960s. He played for North Sydney and Cronulla-Sutherland as a lock but also played at prop and hooker. He was an inaugural player for Cronulla and played in the club's first ever game. Playing career Barnes began his first grade career for North Sydney in 1962. In 1965, Barnes played in both finals games for North Sydney which were a 47–7 defeat against St. George and a 14–9 defeat against Souths in the preliminary final. In 1967, Barnes joined newly admitted side Cronulla-Sutherland and played in the club's first ever game, an 11–5 victory over Eastern Suburbs at the Sydney Sports Ground. Barnes went on to play 22 times for Cronulla as the club finished last on the table and claimed the wooden spoon. Eric Randolph Barnes (born June 16, 1966) is an American former shot putter who held the outdoor world record for the event from 1990 to 2021. He won silver at the 1988 Olympics and gold at the 1996 Olympics. Only three throwers have been within of his outdoor world record since it was set. (Frank) Eric Wollencott Barnes (May 7, 1907 – December 31, 1962) was an American educator, diplomat, actor, and writer. Education Barnes attended public schools in Little Rock. He entered UCLA in 1925, and in 1926 transferred to L'École des Sciences Politiques in Paris, where he graduated in 1930. He received a ''diplome d'études superieures'' from the University of Paris in 1931, followed by a fellowship at the Sorbonne, then obtained a teaching post at the University of Paris in 1932. In 1940 Barnes received a Doctor of Letters degree from the University of Paris. Career In 1930 Barnes enlisted in the United States Foreign Service, and was appointed Vice Consul at Bucharest, Romania, and then in Sofia, Bulgaria.
