Eric B. Vogel is a clinical psychologist, a professor of psychology, and a game designer. Career Professor of Psychology As a Doctor of Psychology, Vogel was a professor at John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, California from 2002 to 2021. Since 2021 he has been a professor in the John F. Kennedy School of Psychology at National University in Pleasant Hill, California, and since 2023 he has been a professor in the California Northstate University College of Psychology in Rancho Cordova, California. He is the 2009 winner of the Eugene Benjamin Sagan award for Outstanding Teaching in Psychology. The Dresden Files
''The Dresden Files'' is a series of contemporary fantasy/Mystery fiction, mystery novels written by American author Jim Butcher. The first novel, ''Storm Front (The Dresden Files), Storm Front''—which was also Butcher's writing debut—was published in 2000 by Roc Books. The books are written as a first-person narrative from the perspective of private investigator and wizard Harry Dresden as he recounts investigations into supernatural disturbances in modern-day Chicago. A cognitive distortion is a thought that causes a person to perceive reality inaccurately due to being exaggerated or irrational. Cognitive distortions are involved in the onset or perpetuation of psychopathological states, such as depression and anxiety. According to Aaron Beck's cognitive model, a negative outlook on reality, sometimes called ''negative schemas'' (or ''schemata''), is a factor in symptoms of emotional dysfunction and poorer subjective well-being. Specifically, negative thinking patterns reinforce negative emotions and thoughts. Rancho Cordova, California
Rancho Cordova is a city in Sacramento County, California, United States. Incorporated in 2003, it is part of the Sacramento Metropolitan Area. The population was 79,332 at the 2020 census. In 2010 and 2019, Rancho Cordova received the All-America City Award. History Originally called Mayhew's Crossing and Hangtown Crossing (c. 1855) during the Gold Rush era, the area was renamed Mayhew Station and Mills Station (c. 1900), respectively.
