Erginus Hihepaali Endjala, born at Ouhwaala in Omusati Region on has been the Omusati Regional Governor since 2015. until 30 June 2025. Education Endjala graduated from the Simon Bolivar Technikon College Pinar de Rio Cuba with a Bachelor in statistics and from Intec College where he graduated with Advanced Diploma in Human Resources. He is pursuing his MBA at Robert Kennedy College, Zurich, Switzerland, in partnership with Cambria University, United Kingdom. Career He worked as a senior quality controller at Lalandji Fishing, as well as a senior quality controller at Robben Sea Food in Western Cape South Africa. Omusati Region
Omusati (the Oshindonga word for Mopane, the dominant tree in the area) is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia, its capital is Outapi. The towns of Okahao, Oshikuku and Ruacana as well as the self-governed village Tsandi are situated in this region. , Omusati had 148,834 registered voters. The region is home to the Ruacana Falls, among the largest waterfalls in Africa, and the Omugulugwombashe heritage site, where the Namibian struggle for independence started in 1966. Geography In the north, Omusati borders the Cunene Province of Angola. Domestically, it borders the following regions: * Ohangwena - northeast * Oshana - east * Kunene - south and west The region got its name from the Mopane tree (''omusati'': ) which is the dominant species in the region. New Era (Namibia)
The ''New Era'' is a daily national newspaper owned by the government of Namibia. The newspaper is one of four daily national newspapers in the country, the others being ''The Namibian'' (English and Oshiwambo), '' Die Republikein'' (Afrikaans) and '' Allgemeine Zeitung'' ( German). ''New Era'' was created by the ''New Era Publications Corporation Act of 1992''. According to Ullamaija Kivikuru, it copied the format of ''The Namibian'' in order to establish credibility. SWAPO
The South West Africa People's Organisation (SWAPO ; , SWAVO; , SWAVO), officially known as the SWAPO Party of Namibia, is a political party and former independence movement in Namibia (formerly South West Africa). Founded in 1960, it has been the governing party in Namibia since the country achieved independence in 1990. The party continues to be dominated in number and influence by the Ovambo ethnic group. SWAPO held a two-thirds majority in parliament from 1994 to 2019. In the general election held in November 2019, the party won 65.5% of the popular vote and 63 out of the 104 seats in the National Assembly.
