The Eredivisie Awards are awarded by the , the Eredivisie (women), Vrouwen Eredivisie, and ESPN (Netherlands), ESPN to the best footballers of each Eredivisie season since 2018. Women footballers first received awards beginning in 2022. The , KPN, and the Johan Cruyff Foundation are partners of the Eredivisie Awards. Unibet has previously been a partner of the awards. Ceremony Since 2021, the awards have been awarded during a ceremony broadcast by ESPN (Netherlands), ESPN. The ceremony in 2021 was held at the Lido Club in Amsterdam. Since, the ceremony has been held at DeFabrique in Utrecht. The ceremony has been presented by (2021–2024), (2022–2025), and (2025). Eredivisie (women)
The Vrouwen Eredivisie (; Dutch for "Honour Division"; ''Eredivisie Vrouwen'' before 2020), also known as the Eurojackpot Vrouwen Eredivisie due to a sponsorship contract, is the highest women's football league in the Netherlands. Organized by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB), it was established in 2007 as a professional league and played for five seasons until 2012, when the Netherlands and Belgium merged their leagues into a single combined league, the BeNe League. After three seasons, the BeNe League folded, and the Eredivisie restarted in the 2015–16 season. The top two Eredivisie teams each year qualify for the UEFA Women's Champions League. The third place team qualifies for the UEFA Women's Europa Cup. 2019–20 Eredivisie
The 2019–20 Eredivisie was the 64th season of the Dutch football league Eredivisie since its establishment in 1955. The season began on 2 August 2019 and was suspended on 12 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Netherlands. The season was abandoned on 24 April. Ajax were the defending champion. Twente, RKC Waalwijk, and Sparta Rotterdam joined as the promoted clubs from the 2018–19 Eerste Divisie. They replaced NAC Breda, Excelsior, and De Graafschap who were relegated to the 2019–20 Eerste Divisie. Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic On 12 March 2020, all football leagues were suspended until 31 March as the Dutch government prohibited events due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Netherlands. Johan Cruyff
Hendrik Johannes Cruijff (25 April 1947 – 24 March 2016), internationally known as Johan Cruyff (), was a Dutch professional Association football, football player and Manager (association football), manager. Football Club Twente (), sometimes known internationally as FC Twente Enschede, is a Dutch professional Association football, football club from the city of Enschede. Sem Steijn
Sem Steijn (born 12 November 2001) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for club Feyenoord. A product of the ADO Den Haag academy, Steijn made his professional debut on loan at VVV-Venlo under the management of his father Maurice in 2018. 2024–25 Eredivisie
The 2024–25 Eredivisie was the 69th season of Eredivisie, the premier football competition in the Netherlands. It began on 9 August 2024 and concluded on 1 June 2025. PSV Eindhoven, who entered the last 5 weeks of the season 9 points behind AFC Ajax, Ajax, entered the last week ahead thanks to Ajax's point losses and defeated Sparta Rotterdam, Sparta 3-1 in the last match of the league on May 18, 2025 and completed the league as champion for the 26th time. Luuk de Jong (; born 27 August 1990) is a Dutch professional association football, footballer who plays as a Striker (association football), striker and Captain (association football), captains club PSV Eindhoven. The 2023–24 Eredivisie was the 68th season of Eredivisie, the premier football competition in the Netherlands. It began on 11 August 2023 and concluded on 19 May 2024. PSV Eindhoven broke the record for most points in an Eredivisie season, with 91, overtaking Ajax's 89-point season in 1997–98. Jurriën David Norman Timber (; born 17 June 2001) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a defender for club Arsenal and the Netherlands national team. Timber joined Ajax's youth academy in 2014, from Feyenoord. He made his first-team debut for Ajax in March 2020, and won two Eredivisie titles and one KNVB Cup.
