Equity is an unincorporated community in Washington County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. History A post office called Equity was established in 1888, and remained in operation until 1902. Howell S. Devola is a census-designated place (CDP) in Washington County, Ohio, United States, along the Muskingum River. It is part of the Parkersburg- Marietta-Vienna, WV-OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 2,771 at the 2000 census. History The community was named for the local Devol family. Captain Devol built a mill in 1807 at Devol's Dam. A post office called Devols Dam was established in 1881, and remained in operation until 1890. Geography Devola is located at (39.470334, -81.472759).
