Equestrian At The 2024 Summer Olympics – Individual Dressage
The individual dressage event at the 2024 Summer Olympics took place from 30 July to 4 August 2024 at the Palace of Versailles. Like all other equestrianism, equestrian events, the dressage competition is open-gender, with both male and female athletes competing in the same division. 60 riders from 30 nations are expected to compete. Background This was the 26th appearance of the event, which has been held at every Summer Olympics since 1912. The two-time reigning Olympic champion is Jessica von Bredow-Werndl of Germany (riding Dalera). The reigning (2022) World Champion is Charlotte Fry of Great Britain. Daniel Bachmann Andersen
Daniel Bachmann Andersen (born 1 June 1990) is a Danish Olympic equestrian athlete. He competed at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon 2018 and at the European Dressage Championships in 2015 and 2019. He represented the Danish team at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, winning a silver medal in the team competition and placed 7th in the individual freestyle. Biography Andersen started riding at an age of 10 and became involved in dressage after he met Morten Thomsen, a Danish Olympian, who is from the same village as Daniel. Later he trained horses in Germany. After his riding career in Germany, he started working for Andreas Helgstrand. In 2014 he started for Blue Hors where he became successful with horses such as Zack, Don Olymbrio, Zepter, Loxana and Hotline. v Hans Peter Minderhoud (born 7 October 1973 in Westkapelle, Zeeland) is a Dutch dressage rider. Minderhoud won the VSN Cup in 2004 with his horse Gameboy and also succeeded in the Pavo Cup with Sandreo and Florencio. At the 2004 World Championships for 5-year-old horses, he won the World title in Verden with Florencio. In the 2004/05 Stallion Competition, he won the L-Class with Sandreo and the Z-Class with Rhodium. He won his second World title at the 2005 World Championships for 6-year-old horses with Florencio. Later that year, he and Uptown won the Pavo Cup as well. In the 2005/06 Stallion Competition, he retained his titles in the L and Z-Class, and also added the M-Class to his list. Flore De Winne (born 5 April 1995) is a Belgian Olympic dressage rider. She competed at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, representing Belgium. Emma Kanerva (born 13 July 1985) is a Finnish dressage rider. She represented Finland in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, finishing 22nd. Pauline Basquin
Pauline Basquin (born 9 December 1978) is a French Dressage rider. She competed at the 2022 FEI World Championships in Herning and at the 2023 FEI European Dressage Championships, finishing 13th in the finals. Basquin was also part of the winning team at the FEI Nations Cup Dressage in Rotterdam in 2023, which was eventually the first Nations Cup victory in dressage for the French team. Therese Nilshagen (born 24 January 1983) is a Swedish dressage rider. At the European Championships in Gothenburg 2017, she won team silver and at the Rotterdam 2019, she won team bronze, both with the black stallion Dante Weltino OLD. Victoria "Vici" Max-Theurer (born 24 October 1985 in Linz, Austria) is an Austrian Olympic dressage rider. Representing Austria, she has competed in five Olympic Games (in 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020). Patrik Kittel (born 10 June 1976) is a Swedish dressage rider. He was born in Stockholm. He competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he placed fourth in team dressage.
