The Equal Parenting Party was a minor father's rights political party in Ontario, Canada, founded in 2014. The party was described by leader Dennis Valenta as a single-issue party and focused on combating perceived inequality in Ontario family law against fathers in divorce proceedings, especially regarding custody and access to children. Clinton, Ontario
Clinton is a community in the Canadian province of Ontario, located in the municipality of Central Huron. Clinton was established in 1831, when Jonas Gibbings and brothers Peter and Stephen Vanderburg cleared out a small area to start. Clinton started to grow in 1844 when William Rattenbury laid out the plans to begin making a village. In 1954, Clinton's population was 2,625 people. Today, it has an estimated population of 3203. Clinton is known as Canada's home of radar and there is a large radar antenna in the downtown because of its association with RCAF Station Clinton during World War II. Huron—Bruce (provincial Electoral District)
Huron—Bruce (formerly known as Huron and Huron—Middlesex) is a provincial riding in Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario since 1987. It was known as Huron from 1987 to 1999. On March 22, 1940, the Liberal member, Charles Robertson, died while in office. Premier Mitchell Hepburn (and later, Daniel Conant) refused to call a by-election for three years citing wartime considerations. He said the electorate was "sick and tired of elections." CCF leader Ted Jolliffe opposed Hepburn's choice and took the government to court over the delayed by-election. The Ontario Court of Appeal sided with the government on the issue. Jolliffe said that he would appeal the decision to the Supreme Court but no further action was taken before the 1943 election was called.
