Phil Epp
Phil Epp, born August 28, 1946, in Henderson, Nebraska, is an American artist known for his paintings, murals, prints and sculpture. Much of his work takes is inspiration from the cloudscapes and landscapes of Kansas and the American Southwest. Low horizons broken by wild horses or agricultural buildings, saturated blue skies, and stylized clouds are typical of Epp's easel paintings, often rendered in acrylic. His prints—lithographs and various kinds of etching—typically feature similar landscape features as his easel paintings. Epp also has received a number of public mural and sculpture commissions. He also produces animal sculptures. He maintains an active studio near Newton, Kansas. Epp, who was raised in the Mennonite church, enjoyed art from a young age and began formal art studies at the Mennonite-affiliated Bethel College (Kansas) in 1965 under the tutelage of Bob Regier, Paul Friesen, and Mike Almanza. Theodore Epp
Theodore H. Epp (January 27, 1907 – October 13, 1985) was an American Protestant Christian clergyman, writer, and radio evangelist. Epp was the founding director of the ''Back to the Bible'' radio broadcast and speaker on the program from 1939–1985. As of 1999 the program was heard worldwide on over 800 stations in eight languages. Early years and education Epp was born in Oraibi, Arizona, the son of Russian Mennonite immigrants. His parents were missionaries to the Hopi Indians there. After graduating from Oklahoma Bible Academy, Epp attended Hesston College, Hesston, Kansas, and the Bible Institute of Los Angeles (now Biola University). Epp received a ThM degree in 1932 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Richard J. Epp is a physicist and lecturer currently working at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Richard Epp received his master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Manitoba and also completed his PhD in theoretical physics at the same institution on quantum field theory. After finishing graduate school, he held post-doctoral research positions at international institutions including the Raman Research Institute in Bangalore, India and the University of California in Davis, California. Richard Epp (born 1948) is a Canadian playwright and actor. Born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Epp studied at the University of Saskatchewan and University of Victoria. He has been a member of the Department of Theatre and Dramatic Arts at the University of Lethbridge in Lethbridge, Alberta, since 1974. He has served as department chair and played a significant role in the development of drama programs and facilities at the University. A full professor since 1991, Epp teaches playwriting, acting, film studies, voice for the actor, and directing, and has directed a wide range of plays at the University of Lethbridge, with particular interest in the classical repertoire. Reuben Epp (March 1 1920 – June 20, 2009) was an author of works in Plautdietsch (Mennonite Low German). Early life Epp's parents were Russian Mennonites who emigrated from Russia to Canada, where Epp was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1920. Career Among Russian Mennonites, Epp is one of the best known poets and story tellers working in Plautdietsch, alongside Arnold Dyck and Jack Thiessen. His accomplishments include publications on the history of Plautdietsch and on its orthography. Epp's name is rendered "Ruben Ap" in Plautdietsch. Epp was educated as a mechanic and became an instructor at a vocational school for mechanics. Later he became the director of a vocational school in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.
