''Twin Peaks'' is an American Surrealist cinema, surrealist Mystery film, mystery-Horror film, horror Drama (film and television), drama television series created by Mark Frost and David Lynch. Overview Supernatural/Otherworldly Bob Frank Silva was a set decorator who worked on the pilot episode. One day, when he was moving furniture in Laura Palmer's bedroom, a woman warned Silva not to get locked in the room. The image of Silva trapped in the room sparked something in Lynch, who then asked Silva if he was an actor. Silva said yes, and Lynch told him that he had a role in mind for him on the series. "Episode 1", also known as "Traces to Nowhere", is the second episode of the first season of the American surrealist mystery-horror drama television series ''Twin Peaks''. The episode was written by series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost, and directed by Duwayne Dunham. "Episode 1" features series regulars Kyle MacLachlan, Michael Ontkean, and Richard Beymer. Dunham was offered the role of directing the episode by Lynch, who wanted Dunham to edit his next film project, '' Wild at Heart'' (1990). Dunham continued to use several stylistic elements in his direction that he had observed in Lynch's work on "Pilot", including largely static camera work and the use of reddish color tints. Mark Frost (born November 25, 1953) is an American novelist, screenwriter, film and television producer and director. He is the co-creator of the mystery-horror television series ''Twin Peaks'' (1990–1991, 2017) and was a writer and executive story editor of '' Hill Street Blues'' (1982–1985). Phillip Michael Gerard (aka Mike) is a character in the TV series ''Twin Peaks'', portrayed by Al Strobel. He is sometimes referred to as MIKE (in capitals) or as the One-Armed Man. He is a demonic spirit/villain and one of the Otherworld characters in the series. He appears in every season and in ''Fire Walk With Me''. Al Strobel
Albert Michael Strobel (January 28, 1940– December 2, 2022) was an American actor best known for his recurring role on David Lynch and Mark Frost's ''Twin Peaks'' as Phillip Michael Gerard, also known as Mike. Early life Strobel was born in Madison, Wisconsin. Strobel lost his left arm at the shoulder as a result of a car accident when he was 17 years old. While living in Oregon in the early 1970s he did theatrical work at the University of Oregon and co-founded the Church of the Creative. Killer BOB
Bob (sometimes known as BOB or Killer BOB) is a fictional character and main antagonist of the ABC television series ''Twin Peaks,'' played by Frank Silva. He is an interdimensional entity who feeds on pain and sorrow. An inhabiting spirit, he possesses human beings and then commits acts of rape and murder in order to feast on the suffering of his victims. In the film '' Fire Walk With Me'', this suffering is called "garmonbozia" and can manifest in the form of creamed corn. Frank A. Silva (October 31, 1950 – September 13, 1995) was an American set dresser and occasional actor best known for his performance as the evil spirit Bob in the TV series ''Twin Peaks''. Silva had a degree in lighting design from San Francisco State University and worked as a prop master and set decorator on several films including David Lynch's ''Dune'' and '' Wild at Heart''.
