Epic Energy
Epic Energy is an Australian company that owns gas pipelines and wind farms. It has been a wholly owned subsidiary of QIC Global Infrastructure, an arm of the Queensland Investment Corporation, since 2013. Epic Energy owns and operates both the Moomba Adelaide Pipeline System and the South East Pipeline System in South Australia. It also owns two small wind farms in Victoria – Timboon West Wind Farm and Yawong Wind Farm since April 2019. Queensland Investment Corporation
QIC (Queensland Investment Corporation) is a Government owned investment company owned by the Queensland Government. It was founded on 1 July 1991 pursuant to the ''Queensland Investment Corporation Act 1991'' to serve the long-term investment responsibilities of the Queensland Government. As of 30 September 2008, the organisation converted from a statutory Government owned corporation (GOC) to a company GOC and was renamed QIC Limited (QIC). QIC has now grown into a leading long-term specialist manager in alternatives. Assets QIC has investments in both Australia and the United States. Moomba Adelaide Pipeline System
The Moomba Adelaide Pipeline System is a natural gas pipeline delivering gas from the Cooper Basin gas wells near Moomba, South Australia, Moomba to Adelaide, with spur pipelines to Angaston, South Australia, Angaston and Whyalla. It can also receive gas from Southeastern Queensland through the QSN Link pipeline owned by APA Group (Australia), APA Group. The pipeline was developed by the Government of South Australia and commenced operation on 28 November 1969. It was privatised in 1995 and bought by Queensland Investment Corporation, the parent company of Epic Energy in April 2013. The pipeline system now consists of a total of of high pressure gas pipelines, including of laterals. Timboon West Wind Farm
Timboon is a town in the Western District of Victoria, Australia. The town is in the Shire of Corangamite local government area, located approximately south-west of the state capital, Melbourne. In the 2021 census, Timboon had a population of 830 people. The main industries within the region are dairying, forestry, and lemon and lime farming. History Prior to the arrival of Europeans, the area was inhabited by people from the Girawurung Aboriginal language group. It is believed that the Timboon's name comes from the local Aboriginal word 'timboun' which was a word used to describe pieces of rock used to open mussels.
