''Epiblema'' is a very large genus of moths belonging to the subfamily Olethreutinae of the family Tortricidae. Most species occur in the Holarctic; a few in South Asia and Africa. Jacob Hübner
Jacob Hübner (20 June 1761 – 13 September 1826, in Augsburg) was a German entomologist. He was the author of ''Sammlung Europäischer Schmetterlinge'' (1796–1805), a founding work of entomology. Scientific career Hübner was the author of ''Sammlung Europäischer Schmetterlinge'' (1796–1805), a founding work of entomology. He was one of the first specialists to work on the European Lepidoptera. He described many new species, for example ''Sesia bembeciformis'' and ''Euchloe tagis'', many of them common. He also described many new genera. He was a designer and engraver and from 1786 he worked for three years as a designer and engraver at a cotton factory in Ukraine. There he collected butterflies and moths including descriptions and illustrations of some in ''Beiträge zur Geschichte der Schmetterlinge'' (1786–1790) along with other new species from the countryside around his home in Augsburg. Epiblema Costipunctana
''Epiblema costipunctana'' is a species of moth belonging to the family Tortricidae. It is native to Europe. The wingspan is 13-18mm.The forewings are fuscous, sometimes ochreous- tinged, irregularly marked with black.The costa is strigulated with black and white .Three streaks from costa and the margins of ocellus are leaden - metallic. The sharply angulated edge of basal patch and the central fascia are darker and separated by a somewhat pentagonal white dorsal blotch more or less strigulated with blackish. There is a suffused blackish spot before apex. The hindwings are fuscous, in male basally whitish, with terminal and broader dorsal blackish fascia, in female posteriorly darker fuscous. Epiblema Cirsiana
''Epiblema cirsiana'', the knapweed bell, is a species of moth of the family Tortricidae. It is found in Great Britain, Fennoscandia, northern Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania. The wingspan is . On average, it is slightly smaller than ''Epiblema scutulana'' and usually slightly darker on colour. The forewing has a bright spot at the dorsal edge, which tends to continue forward in the wing like a greyish cross band. There is also a round, light spot at the back corner and several white spots at the costal edge with a brown stripe in the middle. The hindwings are brown, paler at the base.
