Eoreumgol
Eoreumgol or Ice Valley is a valley in Miryang, South Korea. It gets its name and its notoriety from the freezing cold found there even in midsummer. This phenomenon is believed to be due to local airflow patterns, particularly cold air emerging from underground. The valley is situated on the slopes of Cheonhwangsan mountain, at about 600 m above sea level. It lies in Nammyeong-ri, Sannae-myeon, in northern Miryang, and covers a total area that is variously estimated at 9000 and 30000 m2. The cold water flowing from the valley has traditionally been used for drinking by nearby residents. One of Miryang's foremost tourist attractions, Eoreumgol is served by regular buses from the city center and is key to plans for boosting local tourism. Miryang
Miryang (perhaps pronounced as Milbeol using Idu script), formerly also spelled as 推火郡 (probably pronounced as Milbeol or Miribeol using Idu script), Milbeol (密伐) and Milseong (密城), is a city in Gyeongsangnam-do Province, South Korea. Its name is originated from the tribal country named Miri midong guk (彌離彌凍國). There are various hypotheses as to the meaning of Miryang, such as Milky Way, Galaxy, dragon's field, The Wheat Field and the watery field. Neighboring cities include Changnyeong to the west, Cheongdo to the north, Ulsan to the east, and Yangsan, Gimhae, and Changwon to the south. The natural monuments of South Korea constitute a natural heritage system designated by the South Korean government according to the Natural Heritage Protection Law (문화재보호법) that considers significant natural resources, such as animals and plants. As of August 2022, a total of 702 (132+570) animal, plants, landforms, geological formations, and nature reserves had been designated by the Cultural Heritage Administration of South Korea as natural monuments and scenic sites, with 132 being scenic sites, and 570 of them natural monuments.
