Environment 2050
Environment 2050 ( it, Ambiente 2050, A2050) was an environmentalist political party in Italy. Between August and October 2022, it counted five MPs in Italy's lower house, all of whom had been elected as members of the Five Star Movement. History On 30 July 2022, Minister for Parliamentary Relations Federico D'Incà and Member of the Chamber of Deputies Davide Crippa left the Five Star Movement, who they had been members of since 2013, in disagreement with the party's decision to withdraw its support to the Draghi Cabinet. On 1 August, Crippa and D'Incà founded Environment 2050, which Members of the Chamber of Deputies Maurizio Cattoi, Alessandra Carbonaro and Nicola Invidia joined on the same day. Federico D'Incà
Federico D'Incà (born 10 February 1976) is an Italian politician, who is member of the Chamber of Deputies for the Five Star Movement. On 5 September 2019, he was appointed as Minister for Parliamentary Relations in the Conte II Cabinet. Early life and career D'Incà graduated in economics and commerce from the University of Trento. He was an IT management systems analyst in a private company until 2013, and previously was a senior manager in a multinational large-scale retail trade and quality manager in a robotics and automation company. He is a managing director of the Italy–USA Foundation. 2022 Italian General Election
The 2022 Italian general election was a snap election held in Italy on 25 September 2022. After the fall of the Draghi government, which led to a parliamentary impasse, President Sergio Mattarella dissolved the parliament on 21 July, and called for new elections. Regional elections in Sicily were held on the same day. The results of the general election showed the centre-right coalition led by Giorgia Meloni's Brothers of Italy, a radical-right political party with neo-fascist roots, winning an absolute majority of seats in the Italian Parliament. Meloni was appointed Prime Minister of Italy on 22 October, becoming the first woman to hold that position. In a record-low voter turnout, Meloni's party became the largest in Parliament with 26% of the vote; as per the pre-election agreement among the centre-right coalition parties, she became the prime ministerial candidate supported by the winning coalition. Draghi Cabinet
The Draghi government was the 67th government of the Italian Republic, led by former President of the European Central Bank, Mario Draghi. It was in office between 13 February 2021 and 22 October 2022. The Draghi government was formed following the resignation of Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte in the midst of a political crisis which led to the Conte government losing its majority. After consultations with political parties, President Sergio Mattarella tasked Draghi with forming a "high-profile" government. Mattarella stated that the new government would have to face the health, economic and social crises related to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as overseeing the EU relief fund associated with it. The Senate of the Republic ( it, Senato della Repubblica), or simply the Senate ( it, Senato), is the upper house of the bicameral Italian Parliament (the other being the Chamber of Deputies). The two houses together form a perfect bicameral system, meaning they perform identical functions, but do so separately. Pursuant to the Articles 57, 58, and 59 of the Italian Constitution, the Senate has 200 elective members, of which 196 are elected from Italian constituencies, and 4 from Italian citizens living abroad. The Five Star Movement ( it, Movimento 5 Stelle , M5S) is a political party in Italy. Its leader and president is Giuseppe Conte, Prime Minister of Italy from 2018 until 2021. The M5S was founded on 4 October 2009 by Beppe Grillo, a comedian and blogger, and Gianroberto Casaleggio, a web strategist. From 2014 to 2017, it was a member of the Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy group in the European Parliament, along with the UK Independence Party and minor Eurosceptic parties.
