Enrique Mosconi
Enrique Carlos Alberto Mosconi (21 February 1877 – 4 June 1940) was an Argentine military engineer, who is best known as the pioneer and organizer of petroleum exploration and extraction in Argentina. Early life Mosconi was born in Buenos Aires to Enrico Mosconi, an Italian engineer hired to build railways, and María Juana Canavery, an Argentine of Irish descent. Enrico Mosconi founded the town of Villa Gobernador Gálvez on 26 February 1888. Enrico Mosconi wanted a son to be a doctor; his mother wanted her son to follow the family military tradition of Ángel Canavery, his uncle, who had taken part in the Conquest of the Desert. Mosconi had two older sisters and two younger brothers. Being only two years old the family moved to Italy, coming back a few years later after the death of Mosconi's mother. Enrico Mosconi
Enrico Mosconi (1843-1910) was an Italian engineer and the father of the General Enrique Mosconi. He actively participated in the construction of the railways in the Argentine Republic. Biography Enrico Mosconi was born in 1843 in Milan, Italy, the son of Domenico Mosconi and Maria Tirola, belonging to a distinguished Lombard family. He did his university studies in his native country, and arrived in Buenos Aires about 1869, for work related to construction of the Central Argentine Railway. Settled permanently in Argentina, Enrico Mosconi worked as an engineer for the laying of a telegraph network. In Santa Fe Province he was commissioned to draw a plan for railway línes. By the mid-1870s, he was entrusted to perform work in the Cuartel of Retiro, and he was also hired to do work for the Ferrocarril del Sud. Buenos Aires Cabildo
The Cabildo of Buenos Aires ( es, Cabildo de Buenos Aires) is the public building in Buenos Aires that was used as seat of the town council during the colonial era and the government house of the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata. Today the building is used as a museum. History Mayor Manuel de Frías proposed the building of the cabildo in what is now the Plaza de Mayo on March 3, 1608, since the government of the city lacked such a building. Its construction financed with taxes from the port of Buenos Aires, the building was finished in 1610 but was soon found to be too small and had to be expanded. In 1682, due to lack of maintenance, the building was almost in ruins, and the construction was planned of a new cabildo that was two stories high and 11 arches wide. Juan De Canaveris
Juan de Canaveris (''or Canaverys'') (1748 – 1822) was an Piedmontese lawyer and politician, who served during the viceroyalty of Río de la Plata as accounting officer in the Tribunal de Cuentas de Buenos Aires. He had achieved a high social status in the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata, where he supported the revolutionary movements of May, being the only neighbor (founding fathers of Argentina) of Italian origin who attended in the Open Cabildo, of May 22, 1810. Juan Canaverys also had an active participation in the Hermandad de la Santa Caridad, the first charitable society of Buenos Aires. The British invasions of the River Plate were two unsuccessful British attempts to seize control of areas in the Spanish colony of the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata that were located around the Río de la Plata in South America – in present-day Argentina and Uruguay. The invasions took place between 1806 and 1807, as part of the Napoleonic Wars, when Spain was an ally of Napoleonic France. History The invasions occurred in two phases. A detachment from the British army occupied Buenos Aires for 46 days in 1806 before being expelled. In 1807, a second force stormed and occupied Montevideo, remaining for several months, and a third force made a second attempt to take Buenos Aires. After several days of street fighting against the local militia and Spanish colonial army, in which half of the British forces were killed or wounded, the British were forced to withdraw. Angel Mateo Canavery (1850 - 1916) was an Argentine military man, who participated in the Conquest of the Desert under the command of General Julio Argentino Roca. He also took part against the Montoneras of Ricardo López Jordán (Rebelión jordanista), and against Civic Union troops during the Revolution of the Park. Villa Gobernador Gálvez is a city in the province of Santa Fe, Argentina, located on the western ravine of the Paraná River, within the metropolitan area of Greater Rosario. It had 74,509 inhabitants per the . It is separated from Rosario, to the north, by the Saladillo Stream. It is the fourth most populated city in the province and the second in the metropolitan area.
