Enrique Llácer Soler
Enrique Llácer Soler (Alcoy, Alicante Province, 20 June 1934 – Madrid, 11 April 2024), also known as Regolí, was a Spanish jazz and classical percussionist and composer. Life and career Llácer Soler started his jazz career in 1952 in Barcelona's Jam Sessions while expanding his Valencia and Madrid conservatories studies under Kenny Clarke in Paris and Philly Joe Jones in New York. In 1966 he wrote a drum set method, ''La batería: técnica, independencia y ritmo''. In 1972 he became the Spanish National Orchestra percussion soloist and he subsequently started teaching percussion in the Madrid Royal Conservatory. From then on he focused in the classical side of his career as both performer and composer, but he still was active in the Spanish jazz scene through the 1980s in bands such as Canal Street Jazz Band. Madrid Royal Conservatory
The Madrid Royal Conservatory () is a music college in Madrid, Spain. History The Royal Conservatory of Music was founded on July 15, 1830, by royal decree, and was originally located in Mostenses Square, Madrid. In 1852 it was moved to the Royal Opera, where it remained until the building was condemned by royal order and classes ordered to halt in 1925. For the next sixty-five years, the school had no fixed home, operating in a variety of locations. Since 1990, the Conservatory has officially lived in a restored 18th-century building (previously ''San Carlos'' Royal Hospital) in front of Queen Sofia Museum. Jesús López Cobos
Jesús López Cobos (25 February 1940 – 2 March 2018) was a Spanish conductor. Early life and career López Cobos was born in Toro, Zamora, Spain. He studied at Complutense University of Madrid and graduated with a degree in philosophy. Later he studied conducting with Franco Ferrara and with Hans Swarowsky at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. From 1981 to 1990 he was general music director of the Deutsche Oper Berlin and from 1984 to 1988 he was music director of the Orquesta Nacional de España. From 1986 to 2001 he served as music director of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and from 1990 to 2000 he was principal conductor of the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne. From 2003 to 2010 he served as music director of the Teatro Real in Madrid. He was a National Patron of Delta Omicron, an international professional music fraternity, as well as an honorary brother of the Eta-Omicron chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
