Enn Võrk
Enn Võrk (14 March 1905 Volkovysk, Grodno Governorate – 20 September 1962 Tallinn) was an Estonian composer, conductor, and organist. In 1926, he graduated from Tallinn Conservatory. Between 1926–1933, he conducted Choir of St. John's Church in Tallinn. From 1926–1929, he conducted Radio Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra. He has been the organist in Tallinn St. John's Church (1926–1933) and Rapla Church (1944–1950, 1955–1962). Between 1945-1950 and from 1959, he was a member of Estonian Composers' Union Estonian Composers' Union (abbeviation ECU; et, Eesti Heliloojate Liit) is an Estonian creative union which encompasses professional composers and musicologists in Estonia. Volkovysk
Vawkavysk ( be, Ваўкавы́ск, ; russian: Волковы́ск; pl, Wołkowysk; lt, Valkaviskas; yi, וואלקאוויסק; names in other languages) is one of the oldest towns in southwestern Belarus and the capital of the Vawkavysk district. It is located on the Wolkowyja River, roughly from Grodno and from Minsk. Its population is estimated at 43,826 inhabitants. Vawkavysk was first unofficially mentioned in the Turov Annals in 1005 and this year is widely accepted as the founding year for Vawkavysk. At that time it was a city-fortress on the border of the Baltic and the Slavic ethnic groups. Since the 12th century, Vawkavysk was the center of a small princedom. Tallinn Conservatory
The Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (''Eesti Muusika- ja Teatriakadeemia'') began as a mixed choir of the Estonia Society Musical Department (EMD) on the eve of World War I. The assembly of the Estonia Society created the Tallinn Higher Music School on November 17, 1918. The opening ceremony took place on September 28, 1919. In 1923 the educational institution was renamed the Tallinn Conservatoire. In 1938 the State Drama School was opened. In 1993 the school was renamed the “Estonian Academy of Music”. In 1995 the Drama Faculty was renamed the Higher Theatre School. Rapla Church
Rapla (German: ''Rappel'') is a town in central Estonia, the capital of Rapla County and the centre of Rapla Parish. The oldest records date back to 1241 in the Danish Census Book, when it was said that it was a small village with 8 acres of cultivated fields. By the end of the 13th century, the village centre was firmly established. At around the same time, a Cistercian monastery was built. Rapla's ambitious period of fast growth began only in the late 19th century. In 1866, a pharmacy was built, in 1868 a school, and in 1888 a hospital. In 1898, a Brick factory was opened, and in 1900, a railway line was built between Rapla and Viljandi. The old stone church was demolished in the late 19th century and a new one was built in a Romanesque style, one of the purest examples of this style in all of Estonia.
