Estonia, officially the Republic of Estonia, is a country in Northern Europe. Enn Tarvel (until 1939 Enn Treiberg; July 31, 1932 – September 22, 2021) was an Estonian historian. Early life and education Enn Tarvel was born in the village of Metsiku, where he also grew up, the son of Valdek Tarvel (né Treiberg; 1882–?) and Emilie Tarvel (née Kuulberg; 1896–?). His uncle was the historian Peeter Tarvel. He attended the seven-year school in Annikvere and Rakvere Estonian High School (later renamed Rakvere High School No. 1), where he graduated in 1950 with a silver medal. He then started studying at Tartu State University's Faculty of History and Languages, and he graduated from the university in 1955 in general history. His thesis was on the history of England. Enn Tarto
Enn Tarto (25 September 1938 – 18 July 2021) was an Estonian politician who was a leading dissident during the Soviet occupation of Estonia. He was imprisoned from 1956 to 1960, 1962 to 1967, and again from 1983 to 1988 for anti-Soviet activity. An anti-Soviet dissident Tarto was born in Tartu. He was involved in nationalist activities since his youth. On 4 November 1956, Tarto and other members of the ''Estonian Youth Brigade'' (''Eesti Noorte Malev'') distributed leaflets in support of Hungarian Revolution, 1956. The message reached the West and via Western broadcasts, the students of Moscow State University. Some of these students plus lecturers were expelled for approving the Hungarians. Enn Soosaar
Enn Soosaar (13 February 1937 in Tallinn – 10 February 2010 in Keila) was an Estonian translator, critic, columnist and publicist. Soosaar translated the works of many American authors, including Ernest Hemingway, William Faulkner, and Saul Bellow into Estonian and was instrumental in introducing American literature to an Estonian audience. Soosaar was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Tallinn. In February 1997, the Order of the National Coat of Arms, Class IV was bestowed on him. From 1944 to 1951, Soosaar studied at Hageri's 7-grade school, after which he attended high school from 1951 to 1954 at Tallinn's Second Gymnasium. From 1955 to 1956, he studied at the Tallinn Correspondence School. In 1964, he graduated from the distance education program at the Tartu State University with a degree in English philology. Enn Roos (20 September 1908 – 15 July 1990) was an Estonian sculptor. He was a member of the Pallas (society), Artists Society Pallas and a founding member of the Estonian Artists Association. Roos studied in the studios of Ants Laikmaa from 1926 to 1928 and Jaan Koort from 1927 to 1928. In 1935 he was accepted into the Pallas Art School (1919–1940), Pallas Art School where he was greatly influenced by Anton Starkopf. Roos was a long time professor in the Estonian Academy of Arts, State Art Institute of the Estonian SSR. From 1962 to 1977 he was the head of the department of sculpture. Roos is known by his portrait, female nude and animal sculptures. Notable public works include ''Bear'' (1939) in the Hirvepark in Tallinn (1939), ''Lynx'' (1983) in Tallinn Zoo. Enn Reitel (born 21 June 1950) is a Scottish actor who specialises in voice work in films, television series and video games. Early life Reitel's family arrived in Scotland as refugees from Estonia. He trained as an actor at the Central School of Speech and Drama. Enn Rajasaar (born 8 November 1961 in Tartu) is an Estonian architect. Enn Rajasaar studied in the State Art Institute of the Estonian SSR (today's Estonian Academy of Arts) in the department of architecture. He graduated from the institute in 1985. From 1985 to 1990 Enn Rajasaar worked in the Tallinn office of the soviet design bureau Tsentrosojuz Projekt. From 1990 he has worked in the architectural bureau JVR OÜ.
