Enn Kokk
Enn Kokk (19 June 1937 – 19 August 2019) was a Swedish Social Democratic politician, journalist and writer. Kokk was born in Juminda, Estonia and his family fled to Sweden in 1944. For many decades, Kokk was active within the leadership of the Social Democratic Party as an official, starting 1968. He was, amongst other things, chief editor for the party's magazine ''Aktuellt i Politiken'' for a few years. In 2000, he left the work in the program commission of the party due to his disagreement with the party's decision to support a Swedish membership in the Eurozone. During the referendum campaign on the issue in 2003, Kokk was a board member in the organisation ''Social Democrats Against the EMU''. Birgitta Dahl
Rut Birgitta Dahl (born 20 September 1937) is a Swedish former politician of the Social Democratic Party. Dahl was a Member of Parliament from 1969 to 2002. She served as Minister for Energy from 1982 to 1990, as Minister for the Environment from 1986 to 1991, and as Speaker of the Parliament from 1994 to 2002. She was the chairman of the Swedish section of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) between 2005 and 2011. Education and early career Birgitta Dahl was born in Råda, Härryda Municipality, Västra Götaland County. She earned a B.A. at Uppsala University in 1960. During her studies she was politically active in the Uppsala Student Union. The economic and monetary union (EMU) of the European Union is a group of policies aimed at converging the economies of member states of the European Union at three stages. There are three stages of the EMU, each of which consists of progressively closer economic integration. Only once a state participates in the third stage it is permitted to adopt the euro as its official currency. As such, the third stage is largely synonymous with the eurozone. The euro convergence criteria are the set of requirements that needs to be fulfilled in order for a country to be approved to participate in the third stage. An important element of this is participation for a minimum of two years in the European Exchange Rate Mechanism ("ERM II"), in which candidate currencies demonstrate economic convergence by maintaining limited deviation from their target rate against the euro. Eurozone
The euro area, commonly called eurozone (EZ), is a currency union of 19 member states of the European Union (EU) that have adopted the euro ( €) as their primary currency and sole legal tender, and have thus fully implemented EMU policies. The 19 eurozone members are Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain.
