Chapter X
''Chapter X'' is the second compilation album by the label collective Mavins. It was released on 2 December 2022, by the label, and features the label's artists, Don Jazzy, Rema, Ayra Starr, Crayon, Ladipoe, Magixx, Boy Spyce, Bayanni, Johnny Drille and DJ Big N. The album was produced by Sevn, Jvxn, Andre Vibez, Johnny Drille, Don Jazzy and Prestige. The album was preceded by two singles, "Overloading", and " Won Da Mo", and received positive reception from critics. Background The label revealed the tracklist for the album on 30 November 2022 via social media. Singles The album housed two singles. The lead single "Overloading" was released on 13 May 2022, is performed by Crayon, Ayra Starr, Ladipoe, Magixx and Boy Spyce, and was produced by Don Jazzy. The music video was declared the most trending Nigerian YouTube video of 2022 by Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade, Google's Communications Manager in West Africa. Mavin Records (also known as the Supreme Mavin Dynasty) is a Nigerian corporation and record label founded by record producer and recording artist Don Jazzy on 8 May 2012. The label's inception came to fruition following the closure of Mo' Hits Records, a record label Don Jazzy and D'banj. The label is home to recording artists such as Rema (musician), Rema, Ayra Starr, Crayon (singer), Crayon, Johnny Drille, Ladipoe, Magixx (singer), Magixx, Boy Spyce, Bayanni, and Lifesize Teddy. Boy Spyce
Ugbekile David Osemeke (born 10 May 2001), known professionally as Boy Spyce, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He gained recognition following his 2021 cover of Wizkid's song "Essence". Its success led him to sign a recording contract with Mavin Records, which released his debut extended play, self-titled '' Boy Spyce'', in 2022 to modest commercial success. Early life Boy Spyce was born in Isolo, Lagos State, but hails from Edo State. He grew up living in Jakande Estate, Isolo. For his secondary education, he attended Lagos State Model College Kankon, Badagry, and he is the last born in a family of seven. Afrobeats Albums
Afrobeats, not to be confused with Afrobeat or Afroswing, is an umbrella term to describe popular music from West Africa and the diaspora that initially developed in Ghana, Nigeria, and the UK in the 2000s and 2010s. Afrobeats is less of a style per se, and more of a descriptor for the fusion of sounds flowing out of Ghana and Nigeria.
