Engineering Association Of Ceylon
The Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) is a multidisciplinary professional engineering institution in Sri Lanka. History It was the Director of Public Works at the time F A Cooper, who while attending a meeting while on circuit, who planted this seed of thought. Impressed by the commitment of the membership, he persuaded the engineers in Colombo and other cities to moot a similar professional body. 1906 saw the birth of the Engineering Association of Ceylon. Presided by the Governor of Ceylon Sir Henry Blake, the inauguration of the Association was held on the January 6th 1906 within the hallowed precincts of the Legislative Council of Chambers. Chartered Engineer (Sri Lanka)
In the Sri Lanka, a Chartered Engineer is an Engineer registered with the registered with the engineering council and Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka. It is based on the British designation of Chartered Engineer. Registration Only the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) registers its Corporate Members as Chartered Engineer based on their selection criteria and peer-reviewed process. To practice as a Chartered Engineer in Sri Lanka, one needs to be registered with the Engineering Council. Engineering Council, Sri Lanka
The Engineering Council of Sri Lanka is Sri Lanka's regulatory authority for registration of engineering practitioners. It was formed under the ''Engineering Council Act No 4 of 2017''. Engineering Council Act was passed by the Parliament of Sri Lanka with the support of Eng. Government Medical Officers Association
The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) is a trade union in Sri Lanka. Founded in 1926 as the Government Medical Officers' Association (Central Province) in Kandy, it was renamed as Government Medical Officers' Association of Ceylon in 1927 and in 1949 registered as a trade union under the leadership of Dr E. M. Wijerama. History Under Padeniya During the leadership of Anuruddha Padeniya the GMOA was heavily politicized becoming affiliated with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and the Rajapaksa Family.
