Enemy of the Sun is a German heavy metal music, metal band formed in 2006. History The band was founded in 2006 and named after the Neurosis (band), Neurosis album Enemy of the Sun, of the same name. Their most famous member is Waldemar Sorychta, who had previously played in bands like Despair (band), Despair, Grip Inc. and Voodoocult and who made a name in producing many metal bands in the 1990s. At the moment, Sorychta is also member of the gothic metal band Eyes of Eden. The female bass player Alla Fedynitch was a touring bass player with Pain (Swedish band), Pain and is a member of Eyes of Eden as well. The Finnish lead singer Jules Näveri and their drummer Daniel Zeman were playing in less known bands before joining Enemy of the Sun. In the beginning of 2007 the band recorded a demo, which was honored from Rock Hard as well as Metal Hammer as "Demo of the Month". Voodoocult
Voodoocult was an international thrash metal supergroup formed in 1993 by Phillip Boa, vocalist of the alternative band Phillip Boa & The Voodooclub. The project was especially notable for the reputation of the participating musicians, such as Jim Martin (of Faith No More), Chuck Schuldiner (of Death), Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, and Mille Petrozza of German thrash metal band Kreator. The band released two albums and disbanded in 1996 after the release of the second album and a tour. Eyes of Eden is a German symphonic metal band founded in 2005 by multi-instrumentalist and record producer Waldemar Sorychta. History Waldemar Sorychta started Eyes of Eden by writing songs and assembling the band. They recorded the material with Mika "Gas" Karppinen, Gas Lipstick (HIM (Finnish band), HIM) on drums. Singer Sandra Schleret recorded most of the vocals of the album, but then had some serious health issues to take care of, so she left the band before the album was finished. Eyes of Eden then appointed 20-year-old Franziska Huth to re-record the vocals on the album. ''Faith (Eyes of Eden album), Faith'' was released in 2007. Gothic metal (or goth metal) is a fusion genre combining the aggression of heavy metal with the dark atmospheres of gothic rock. Grip Inc. was an American groove metal band and side project of drummer Dave Lombardo. The band was formed in 1993 and was signed to Steamhammer Records. History Following the birth of his first child in 1993, Lombardo formed Grip Inc. with Voodoocult guitarist Waldemar Sorychta. The pair recruited bassist Jason VieBrooks and vocalist Gus Chambers to complete the line-up, releasing their debut record '' Power of Inner Strength'' (1995), distributed via Metal Blade Records. Prior to the album's release Lombardo described leaving Slayer as a career low, because he did not know what type of music to play. AllMusic reviewer Vincent Jeffries singled out Lombardo for praise on the album, remarking that Slayer fans "will enjoy the drummer's double bass work and overall aggression throughout the disc."
