Enebakk Municipality
Enebakk is a municipality in Akershus county, Norway. It is part of the Follo traditional region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Kirkebygda. The parish of ''Enebak'' was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The part of Enebakk lying east of lake Øyeren was transferred to Fet municipality in 1962. General information Name The municipality (originally the parish) is named after the old ''Enebakk'' farm (Old Norse: ''Ignarbakki''), since the first church was built here. The first element is the genitive case of a river name ''Ign'' (the meaning is unknown) and the last element is ''bakki'' which means "river bank". In Norse times the parish was alternatively called ''Ignardalr'' meaning "the valley of (the river) Ign". Prior to 1921, the name was written "Enebak". Follo, Norway
Follo (old spelling Foldouge) is one of three traditional and judicional Districts of Norway, districts in the former fylke (county) of Akershus, Norway - south east of Oslo towards the county of Østfold, the other two regions being Romerike (east of Oslo following european route E6 going east and then north in Norway) and Asker og Bærum (west of Oslo). Follo borders Oslo to the North-West, fellow Akershus district Romerike to the North-East and East, and Østfold to the south. The municipalities of Frogn and Vestby have coast lines along the Oslofjord. Einar Holstad
Einar Holstad (born 8 August 1950 in Oslo) is a Norwegian politician for the Christian Democratic Party. He served as a representative to the Norwegian Parliament from Akershus during the terms 1997–2001 and 2001–2005. From 1997 to 2000, and during the entire second term, he met as a regular representative meanwhile Valgerd Svarstad Haugland was appointed to the first and second cabinet Bondevik. Holstad was involved in local politics in Enebakk municipality from 1979 to 1983 and 1987 to 2003, serving as deputy mayor in 1991–1993 and mayor in 1994–1995. He has chaired the municipal party chapter for several periods. The 1976 Summer Olympics (), officially known as the Games of the XXI Olympiad () and officially branded as Montreal 1976 (), were an international multi-sport event held from July 17 to August 1, 1976, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Thorleif Andresen
Thorleif Andresen (14 February 1945 – 4 August 2022) was a Norwegian cyclist. Andresen was born in Enebakk on 14 February 1945, and was a younger brother of Ørnulf Andresen. He competed at the 1968, 1972 and the 1976 Summer Olympics. He also won the Norwegian National Road Race Championship in 1969 and 1971. In 1985 he was awarded ''Gullplaketten'' from the Norwegian Cycling Federation, their most prestigious award. Thomas Alsgaard
Thomas Alsgaard (born 10 January 1972) is a Norwegian former professional cross-country skier. Alsgaard is regarded by many as the best performer of the freestyle technique (skating) in cross-country skiing and many of today's best skiers have studied his technique. In total, Alsgaard won 15 medals in the Winter Olympics and FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, making him one of the most successful skiers of all time. Oslo
Oslo ( or ; ) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality.
