''Endless Space 2'' is a turn-based strategy 4X game developed by Amplitude Studios and published by Sega. It is the sequel to '' Endless Space'', which was released in 2012. The game had been made available through Steam's early access program since October 2016. It was released on 18 May 2017, and received positive reviews. Gameplay ''Endless Space 2'' is set in a universe that was long ago dominated by a powerful race called the Endless. Inquisitive and dedicated, the Endless were able to make great advances in the fields of science, which culminated in them achieving virtualization, allowing them to upload their minds into machines and giving them eternal life. Amplitude Studios
Amplitude Studios SASU is a French video game developer based in Paris. The studio was founded in January 2011 by former Ubisoft employees Romain de Waubert de Genlis and Mathieu Girard. Sega Sammy Holdings acquired it in June 2016 and became part of Sega Europe until it became independent again in 2024. 4X (abbreviation of ''Explore, Expand, Exploit, Exterminate'') is a video game genre, subgenre of Strategy game, strategy-based video game, computer and board games, and includes both turn-based strategy, turn-based and real-time strategy titles. The gameplay generally involves imperialism, building an empire. Emphasis is placed upon economic and technological development, as well as a range of military and non-military routes to supremacy. Metacritic is an American website that aggregates reviews of films, television shows, music albums, video games, and formerly books.
